So I'm going to be a "mature" bridesmaid this summer.

I've chosen my dress (all choosing and paying for own dresses).

Fell in love with a dress. Meant to order it - forgot. Now it's sold out!

Need a 22 or a 24! Burgundy colour.

Please help me!

I don't know about the rules for clothing. Best thing is to contact them asap, ask about UK shipping.

I did find numerous dresses that are so similar, I think a factory in India or somewhere is churning them out with variations in the sleeve, skirt slit and neckline decoration. It would be worth asking the UK retailer if they can get the version you wanted. Try the US shop first, though.

This Canadian place makes dresses and can do alterations (for a fee). Lead time is 4 weeks and they definitely ship to UK. Prices are higher, though - the one I've copied is £130, with shipping on top.

Personally I would find another dress, maybe one that's a wee bit more bridesmaid-appropriate.

What's inappropriate about it? It's already been approved by the bride.
