Has anyone used them. Is the stuff true to size and are they reliable actually sending it?

chipsandpeas · 28/05/2023 11:42

all i would say is check the reviews for uk reviews of sizing as it can be up and down
ive used them a few times and recived everything but clothes wise, had some decent stuff and some crappy stuff

cannaecookrisotto · 28/05/2023 11:51

Check the sizes and reviews but I use them lots and usually happy with my order.

All my holiday clothes are from Shein this year and I was pleasantly surprised by the bikinis and sunglasses.

The delivery has been quick for me as well, deliveries in under a week.

cannaecookrisotto · 28/05/2023 11:58

Also - I sent one thing back recently due to not liking it on and the returns process was straightforward.

They just send you a label to print and off it pops, refund.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 28/05/2023 12:02

This is reassuring. I've just made my first small order with them - due today - to see what they're like.
🤞🏻

BB2023 · 28/05/2023 12:03

I've used them a few times. Delivery is usually pretty quick. It's a bit hit or miss in terms of what I've kept but I've found the refund process is quick and easy.

tillytoodles1 · 28/05/2023 12:05

Thanks everyone. I was mainly looking at holiday stuff, so I'm not really looking for long lasting, just as long as it lasts two weeks.

OP posts:
MrsAnon6 · 28/05/2023 12:06

I've found their products to be poor quality and delivery often takes 2-3 weeks. I've returned more products than I've kept. I've also heard they treat their staff pretty appallingly.

Chewbecca · 28/05/2023 12:06

My stuff was shite (sizing and quality) and not worth the hassle sending back. Also a bit questionable ethically so I won't order again.

Maddy70 · 28/05/2023 12:08

A bit on the small side and cheap material but I have bought loads

JandalsAlways · 28/05/2023 12:08

Terrible for size and appalling quality

MinxieMax · 28/05/2023 12:10

Uh Oh.... the fast fashion police will be along in a minute to lecture you all on your disgraceful support for this company.

I buy a bit from them now and then, and once I find something that works I buy a few of the same items in different colours. Their summer dresses are great but can often run big. I buy mostly accessories and they are great. Things like hair stuff, storage bags, travel bottles and backpacks - the backpacks I've bought have been great, just what I wanted for travelling so don't worry about them being knocked about. Very sturdy and some lovely designs. I know a lot of the stuff is knock off of other designs but the site is legal and I've had no issues with deliveries etc.

Review with pics usually give a good idea of how things will look.

I'm by no means the fashion police but from what I understand, there are huge concerns with Shein and its treatment of employees, with awful working conditions, horrifically long shifts, modern slavery and possible use of child labor, not to mention chemicals in clothing, and questions about theft of designs from smaller designers. A quick google will tell you plenty. If it were me, I would steer well clear.

jamiejean · 28/05/2023 12:30

I've ordered some playsuits, a jumpsuit and a dress lately and they're lovely. Quality is good and so cheap. They also do blue light discount and they usually have free shipping on Sunday's. I've found everything to be true to size.

blackpinkinyourarea · 28/05/2023 13:18

I have had no problems with Shein. They are very quick to despatch orders. The problem is with Evri who then take responsibility for delivering it! They lost half of one of my orders. Shein refunded it with no argument.
Quality is fine, some slightly dodgy items but really no worse quality than clothes from the high Street!
Pay attention to reviews with photos as they will help you to determine which size you need for that particular item.

I often wonder how places like Primark can sell clothes and other stuff at bargain prices too.

I'm not saying it's good to buy from a place with such a reputation, however most people would find that fast fashion is everywhere now in recognisable retailers and who knows what the working conditions are behind them?

It is fine to be ethical and buy silk and high end designs - if you can afford them. Most can't.

I doubt that Primark and other fast fashion retailers (and even more expensive brands) have that much greater labour standards than Shein but at least companies operating directly in the UK/EU should comply with laws about which chemicals are allowed in products. Buying direct from China is much more of a risk

xyz111 · 28/05/2023 13:45

I'm between sizes with Shein so I normally order both sizes. Returns are free and only take a couple of days to refund. People say it's poor quality but I've had some great bits from there and never had an issue with quality

Softoprider · 28/05/2023 13:45

Please do not use this shoddy outfit. I ordered stuff from them and the reurns process was made so difficult I could not send the awful things back. I tried and tried and time ran out so I am stuck with clothes I can't wear which will have to go to charity

I believe that EU have regulations and standards for imports into the EU. The Shein distribution hub is in Belgium.

I doubt the UK has or will have such standards due to Brexit though.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 28/05/2023 14:20

Is Shein like wish but just for clothes and accessories?

Oooh, aren’t you a delight. Most people would prefer to be the fast fashion police than only be able to afford Shein. You might want to check your privilege.

Sadly, some people don’t have much choice, for various reasons. And I doubt the rest of the high street is much better, particularly places like Primark.

And yet, weirdly, you are the only one to raise it at that point.
