Strapless bra for larger chest sizes?

Lovingsummerflowers · 28/05/2023 08:27

Has anyone come across a good strapless bra for wearing under strappy summer dresses etx, suitable for 32E chest size? I have one from years ago but it slips down all the time so looking for an alternative. Thank you!

I'm with you on this search hun .. I've just ordered some from Amazon so I'll let you know how they are

Zelda93 · 28/05/2023 09:01

Pour moi and bravissimo are great for larger sizes.

CrotchetyQuaver · 28/05/2023 09:30

I suspect you're searching for the impossible, I've never found one that doesn't slide down a bit. I think gravity wins with anything over a C cup. Good luck with your search!

CeriB82 · 28/05/2023 09:46

Im 48 and a 34DD. Never found one. Big girl need a lift and strapless don’t do it

Zelda93 · 28/05/2023 09:49

I am 34ff and have found mine on the above mentioned sites 👍

You need to go as small as you can on the band size as that's what does all the work. Look at sister sizes for smaller band size/bigger cup combos.

If you've not already measured yourself using Boob or Bust method, do that too as it generally advises a smaller band bigger cup.

OMGitsnotgood · 28/05/2023 09:54

i'm a 40DD and struggle with bras generally, strapless bras even more so. In desperation before a recent holiday i bought a multi-way from George at Asda and it was the best fitting and supportive strapless i've had for a while. So much so i've just been back for another one. Can't vouch for how long they will last as only had a month. Looks like the have your size available online.

The wonder bra ultimate strapless is the best I’ve found

leopardprintismyfavourite · 28/05/2023 10:03

I’ve always bought the Wonderbra ultimate Glamour strapless both when I was a 32FF and then a 34E. It’s the best one I’ve found.

There isn't one magic strapless bra for larger busts as so much depends on your personal shape. Plus you are never the same size in strapless as normal bras.

I think I tried on every strapless bra in Bravissimo and was beginning to despair when the last one fitted perfectly.

If you are a 40DD @OMGitsnotgood and struggling with bras, it's likely that you are in the wrong size.

40DD is a big back with a really tiny cup. I suspect you are getting no support from the band and all the support from the straps. So once you take away the straps you have no support at all and the bra just falls down.

Your real size is probably a much smaller band and a bigger cup and then you would have the support you are missing.

I'm a size 14 and wear a 32GG.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 28/05/2023 10:37

30/32G and wonderbra ultimate strapless is amazing. The back band is already pretty tight compared to a normal bra.

MN tells me this all the time but no matter where i go for bras, I am difficult to fit*

As i said in my post, the strapless, very cheap bra I got from Asda is very supportive as is my last M&S bra

A 38 doesn't go round me *

I'm a size 14 and wear a 32GG.*
Which is weird given i'm also a size 14 but as above a 38 won't go round my back

What cupnsize are you choosing with a 38 back? You need to go up at least 1 if not 2 cups when trying on a smaller band.

dementedpixie · 28/05/2023 12:01

I'm a size 22ish up top and wear a 36 back (36GG/H). Depends what cup size you're putting with the 38 back as to whether it goes round ok

OMGitsnotgood · 28/05/2023 12:33

I've tried a 38 D and 38DD but it doesn't fit round to fasten. Boob and bust measurements suggested a 36 E but the band went nowhere near fastening in M&S and John Lewis. Would an E or an F make the band bigger then so a 38 might fit? Will give it a go but expect the cup with be too big. As per my first comment, the Asda 40DD strapless fits perfectly, only tried on when i was in there and desperate.

AnnaMagnani · 28/05/2023 12:55

You have to scoop everything round from the sides into the cup, it's all boob and all needs to go in the cups.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 28/05/2023 12:57

Yes a bigger cup will increase the overall size of the band.

ok will try that next time i get the opportunity and report back, thanks

dementedpixie · 28/05/2023 13:20

@OMGitsnotgood if you go down in the back size you need to go up in the cup size to cover the same cup volume - these are sister sizes e.g. 40DD = same cup volume as 38E

The cup size is relative to back size so a 36DD is not the same cup volume as 38DD (38DD is a bigger cup size)

I just bought a Curvy Kate one on Vinted, I’m a 32g and I am delighted to say it’s really good.

Never been able to find a decent one before and have only just discovered Curvy Kate so thought it was worth a go, only a fiver.

It has quite a thick back band, 4 hooks and I think that is what seems to be making the difference- not wore it outside yet as it’s for my holidays but had it on around the house and it feels really secure.

When I was younger and a D cup I used to pin the sides of the bra to my top under my arm and that helped it stay up - don’t think it would work now on my G cups but maybe worth a go.

CalloohCallayFrabjousDay · 28/05/2023 13:51

M&S! Found a great one last year, but I had to try loads of sizes as my normal size didn't fit.
