If you carry all you weight on your hips and bum...

What's style of clothes and patterns can help make you look a bit more in proportion? I'm a UK size 10 on top and a 12-14 in trousers. I seem to have slipped into the habit of wearing baggy joggers and elasticated trousers and I miss looking more put together. I do have a smallish waist, but struggle to find a more fitted style of trousers that will go over my bum and hips, without being too baggy around the waist.

Place marking for interest! Sound the same size as me and I'm always in baggy clothes, or things that make my bum look awfully flat!! Or my go-to option is gym leggings which probably don't look as good as I think they do Grin

A line skirts, levi jeans 😊

Fit and glare dresses

They are not at all in fashion right now sadly 😁

But it's what looks best on me (small waist, slim on top and wide hips/big bum)

Fit and FLARE

Asos hourglass trousers. I’m the same sizes as you and find they fit well. Annoys me I can see my rib cage but then have a big fat bum!

Definitely fit and flare dresses! Also empire line dresses work for me too. If you have an extreme pear shape you, like me, may have the generic condition Lipoedema. Up to 11% of adult women may have it but there is little awareness. Good luck finding clothes that fit - it’s a constant challenge. I find the dresses from Joy are a good bet, some Boden, some Jigsaw and Uniqlo dresses can be surprisingly pear-friendly too.

Thanks, I've ordered a couple more fit and flare dresses for the summer. Next challenge will be finding shoes to wear with them as I currently live in trainers Grin

I agree with empire line and fit and flare. Especially empire line which has a wide fitted panel around the ribs, as that is so flattering. I have a couple of dresses that makes me look two stone lighter than most of my clothes because they show off the very slim rib cage and skim the very chubby hips.

Would paperbag waist work?
