I thought milia but I've had it a long time, well over a year if not more. It's not budging and could do with some help in identifying it so I can make the next move and buy the right stuff and treat it. It's getting me down. Thanks

Could it be a compound mole?

ilovecherries · 27/05/2023 17:59

I’d take that to the doctor tbh before I started treating it with anything.

GP see me for this? Goodness you don't think it's serious? Or just to get advice on how to treat it?

Do you mean the skin-coloured slight lump?

I had something similar and was referred under the two weeks rule to dermatology. Thankfully mine turned out to be a wart, but I'd definitely would recommend getting yours looked at, given how responsive they were with me.

JofraArchersFastestBall · 27/05/2023 20:03

A fibrous papule? I've got one, appeared in my early 20s. I think you can have them surgically removed, but I just try not to look at mine!

Go to the gp first r o check it's nothing sinister.
They will be able to tell you exactly what it is (hopefully benign) then you can find out what treatment options there are once you know the name. Pointless buying products when you don't know what it actually is!

Bearpawk · 27/05/2023 20:23

Not to worry you but basal cell carcinoma can present like that. Chances are it's nothing but best rule it out op x

Wouldn’t try and diagnose from a distance but these bumps can, sometimes, be something that needs removed surgically. I had one needing removed myself last year, you can barely see anything now. I’m sorry if I was a bit abrupt and scared you, but yes, get your Gp to have a look and see if you need to see a dermatologist.

worklifebalancehelp · 27/05/2023 20:55

Does it bleed, has it changed in shape or size?
Also thought the same as @Bearpawk, it's how it started with mine.

Yeah this is a much better picture but looks a lot like this but smaller I think hard to tell from a picture.

Op modular bcc can present exactly like a papule (see photo in link) so don't be alarmed if they refer you to a derm under the 2 week rule to take a look.
Good luck x

No referral. Went to GP she shined a light on the nose and said its completely innocent, doesn't know what it is because as we age lots of people get spots growth in all sorts of places. Pleasant lol. Mine isn't purple at all and looks nothing like what some were saying here but i got it checked out anyway as I was just curious as to what it is and still none the wiser. She told me what looks innocent and what isn't and won't be referring me but I can get it removed privately as nhs won't do it. Hope this helps anyone else. They also ask if skin cancer runs in family. No one in mine has ever had it even the older sun worshipers who burnt like hell both my nans and great nan, geeat uncles always put in the sun all in their 80's/90's now😆 cancer has lots of factors too including if it runs in family, skin tone plays a factor. Lots to learn really.
