Compression Stockings for a Week

Looking for tips on how to best cope with compression stockings after sclerotherapy?

Worried about what washing in them and generally not taking off for a week will do to skin and toe nails? Will they get smelly? Should I go for black or nude? Generally, don’t do nude tights but would solid black in June be just ridiculous? But if I get any marks on them, nude will show. Anything else I have not considered?

Any advice is appreciated.

Aren't you allowed to change them?

Other than that I've no useful advice!

I've had nude and black - I'd say nude better for June, particularly if weather is warm.

All the paperwork from Veincentre says must keep on for. Min a week, wash in them, sleep in them, so not take off. It’s expensive treatment with potential side effects, so I going to follow all instructions.

Yes of course, definitely follow the instructions!
Good luck with it.

I’ve had this, you can change them. Just do it straight away (I.e one off one on). They are a bitch to get on. I had black, wore them under trousers but I had it in October so not as warm.
Good luck!

Oh and a relative has to wear compression stockings all the time due to poor blood flow, she wears nude and they look fine.

I had to wear compression stockings for 6 weeks after open-heart surgery earlier this year and they were awful to wear. Very uncomfortable. I was issued with two pairs so I could change them every day, with one pair on me and the other in the wash. Very hard work getting them on and off. I am 68 and my partner is 69 but she is very fit and has a lot of upper body strength. I doubt most people our age could manage. I definitely wouldn't wear them for several days in a row.

I wore similar after my section and I would go nude so you can wear whatever socks/ leggings/trousers over the top. Mine were white nhs ones and they looked lovely poking out over my socks for a few weeks!
