I just tried every foundation/tinted moisturiser I own on my arm, plus a few samples. It's a mix of neutrals, warm and cool shades I think. All light/medium.

I still didn't know which was best for me after doing that, then I smeared them all together in frustration. I love the colour I got 😄

Semi seriously, I'm considering squirting the whole lot into a vat and using that for the next 5 years?

How do you know what to use? Its hard for me to judge on my face. I have to apply a face full to check the colur, then wear all day. Sometimes o take a photo. Then I forget the nuances by the next day and have the puzzle again.

Seriously - if you did that and you liked what you got, do that!

I mix my foundation shades all the time, bit of this bit of that..... My undertones change through the seasons as my skin tans/fades.

Make a formula for your mix tho and write it down - two parts x, 1 part y etc. Then you can replicate it.

Best place to try is a swipe down from your cheek / jaw / chin area! If it blends there, then it's a good colour for you.

If mixing them all works, get one of those tiny travel size pots from boots and mix it in to try for a week or so? Be careful on the formula as some may separate on the face depending what they're made from if mixed 😊

If they all looked about the same that means you've got the right shade! The difference then comes down to texture, coverage, whether it lasts all day, whether it covers or sinks into pores/wrinkles, whether it gives a matt or dewy finish. All stuff you can only really work out by wearing it all day.
So it's just down to which you prefer. I like different foundations for different things (sheer for casual/holiday), heavier for a special occasion).

If you do, put half of it straight on your face and upload footage to TikTok and YouTube. You'll make a mint. Wink

I did an online skin analysis thing with Dcypher. I did end up buying their foundation (brilliant) but even if I hadn't it was excellent help to find out where I was on the cool - neutral- warm and fair - dark scales. I was actually surprised by the result, despite looking at my face every day! You might need to tinker with your phone photo settings first though to make sure the white balance is ok.
