Wedding Guest Outfit HELP

Another wedding guest outfit dilemma!
I had a baby last year and am much bigger than I was and not feeling comfortable in anything!
I'm 5'4 and size 16-18. Very fair skin and red hair, although partial to a spray tan!
I'm looking for something flattering for a wedding next month. I also get really hot easily so needs to be nice and cool! Already have a pair of nude heels that will go with anything and many many bags...

First glance I would like something like this, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Urban Touch Floral Print Dipped Hem Midi Dress, Rose Pink at John Lewis & Partners

Should also say in terms of style - I feel like I have lost my style recently but pre-baby I liked to be a bit edgy or boho. I don't want to look too mumsie or same as everyone else. I am 34

It's a lovely dress for a wedding.

Don't take this the wrong way because I'm bigger than you, but I think it looks great on someone who is a size 10.

Not sure if it will be so flattering on someone shorter?

delilabell · 24/05/2023 14:38

I think you'll look lovely in that ! :-)

That looks nice but I hate dipped hems

Cressidasmum · 24/05/2023 17:10

I think it's a beautiful dress. In fact I'm at a destination wedding in September and am seriously considering the green one. I'm 5 ft 7 and a size 16.

I could have written this exact post, I'm also on the hunt for a dress to wear to a wedding and it seems like any dress which helps hide your post-baby figure a bit looks incredibly mumsy! Where are the dresses which are a bit boho/edgy but not clearly just designed for waifs? Or do they not exist!

Also on the dress you linked above, I wonder what it would look like on a woman with a bigger chest, it doesn't look too low cut on the website but I think that's due to careful pinning and a very slim model, I think if you look closely it might actually be a very low cut dress?

I’m your height and weight and have struggled to find a dress suitable for a forthcoming wedding and found this one from Mango (although my size was only available in M&S - had no idea they were stockists). It is truly lovely on.

Have a look on Silkfred, they basically have a dress for every occasion then some!

So aware of this with the wrap style top! And its always worse after a few hours of wearing... frantically asking around for a safety pin 😅
