Help finding outfit for 40-ish bride, second wedding

Definitely don't want to do big wedding meringue. Not even sure I want to go all white/cream. Early summer wedding. Love a vintage style.

Sadly did the 1950's calf length, halter-neck full-skirt look the first time round, so feel like I can't go there, which would be my natural inclination, so I was thinking of something more 1940's? Maybe a cream silk peplum jacket over the top, fabulous halo hat with netting, but what the fuck do I wear underneath?

I'm 5'4", size 12, hourglass shape with a bit of a mum-tum I'm self-conscious about, english rose colouring, dark blonde, green/grey eyes.

I'm obsessed with the Sable dress from Nancy Mac in the seafoam or periwinkle colours, but they're velvet and i think that would just look really weird in the summer...

So, help me think about options?

That Ghost one is lovely but bias cuts are completely unforgiving. DH cousin who is as thin as a whip had a bias cut one, I wouldn’t want to personally worry about my tum in one.

My friend is wearing a Bardot neckline three quarter length brocade gown for her wedding in a couple of months. Really think about fabric quality, she is just over 40 and looks completely wonderful.

I loved the Chanel dress Lily Allen wore for her second wedding. It was very 60s.

If you contact Nancy Mac I think they will make any of their dresses in a different fabric/length etc. worth a shout if you adore the dress but don’t want velvet.

Yes - I was coming on to say the same. They are great at bespoke, or eg I’d like that style in a different fabric.

Looks like a long version of the sable dress in a pic at the top of the page.
I’ve got a couple of their dresses and they’re lovely. Plus a lovely shrug.

That was a breathtakingly epic dress, @Moveoverdarlin. Truly something to aspire to.

But I suspect the OP could find something that would flatter her just as much.

I was 35 when I married. Not a natural bride! I'm same shape as you and wanted something non bridey. I went to a stylist and she found me something greatD that was in liberty in London but all John Lewis shops have a styling service. So does jigsaw. They just bring you things you wouldn't have thought of. Good luck!

I agree. I'm a bit hyper sensory and a horrific fabric snob, so fabric is a huge deal to me.

I actually bought one off Vinted for less than the cost of a weekly shop for 4, so I'll post a photo when it arrives and you can feed back. If its horrid I'll sell it on and try again!
