Spray tan advice

Cookiemonstersnana · 21/05/2023 19:22

DD gets married in a couple of weeks.
I'm very pale and would like a bit of colour.
Questions
How long before should I get it done
Should I have it done more than once before
What happens with my hair
What should I wear
How dark would it be
Should I exfoliate before

Any other info will be gladly received.

Fellow pale person here! I love a spray tan before a wedding and the colour has always looked really natural.

I have mine 2 days before. Book a late afternoon or evening appointment - shower before so that you don't have any deodorant or moisturiser. You'll look in the mirror and wonder what you've done, it's a 'trust the process' situation! Shower it off the following morning, loads of moisturiser. I wear loose dark clothing and flip flops to the appt.
I've always been given a paper thong which means no white patches but you can stay in your own undies if you prefer.

Have a brilliant day!

I would add; I'd get one done somewhere waaaay before the event. Only, I had one done by a lady before a wedding (she had over 1000 reviews at 5*!) and it was AWFUL! I was streaky and patchy.

You've got 2 weeks?

Find someone asap and give them a go. You'll get an idea of the colour and how dark you want to go and how long it lasts for you before the one you have for the big day.

One of my daughters spray tans people (among other things) and she has a dedicated room for it. She asks you to exfoliate lightly all over before you come and lightly moisturise your elbows and heels and knees. No deodorant.

She lets you wear as little or as much underwear as you wish. She offers paper undies. She stands you in a pop up 3 sided tent and you have to take up these hilarious (to me) poses like body builders do to reveal different areas of your body. She sprays with a lot of artistic flare - not just all the same all over - she'll ask if you want your back or arms or legs darker or paler as she goes and spray accordingly, finishing with little extra puffs where a natural tan would be stronger. Shoulders, upper arms ect. Hair is up in a cap.

As pp says - be prepared for it to go WAY darker while it dries/sets. At least 50% of the depth of colour will come off when you shower. Whatever you wear to the appointment WILL get fake tan on it so dress accordingly!

Enjoy!
