Make up help please

First time putting my own post up so please be gentle. On the back off someone else's post re favourite everyday lipstick, I thought I would ask here, I am completely useless at picking make up, so have come to you lovely ladies for help on making this 45 year old look put together for everyday and specifically a family wedding in a few weeks. I do wear make up occasionally, but am mostly bare-faced.

Please can you tell me your favourite 'go to' for any of these:

*long wearing black mascara - the one I bought smudges - ugh

  • nice everyday lipstick - my colouring is dark blonde, pale olive toned skin and hazel brown eyes *eyebrows?? - I currently just use a dark brown pencil *foundation- I currently use either il makiage (looks too yellow, even though I did their test, I never sent it back) or L'Oréal Infallible 24hr fresh wear *concealer- absolutely essential for me as I have dark under eye circles *blusher and eye shadow - is this even a thing people use now- and now you see how clueless I am *oh and to top it off I have small eyes - I do use black inked eyeliner sometimes

Any and all help greatly appreciated 🙏 Thanks so much.

Your colouring sounds lovely. I tend to go for quite natural so use lavera big volume mascara. It you have small eyes a soft pencil top and outside bottom.

Would a bb/cc cream suit you better if you just want to even out?

Ahh that is so kind of you to say, we always hone in on our flaws the most. Good point re bb/cc creams i completely forgot about them, so thank you. Will check out later mascara, that sounds just what I'm looking for.

There's a NYX eyeliner/pencil eyeshadow in Olive that is good, stays on doesn't smudge. You can put it on above the top lashes.
Lancome Defencils mascara doesn't smudge. Expensive but it never fails I guess.

Also, experiment with an inexpensive 'shimmer brick' or glow brick in neutral tones, there's a few in Boots and sweep that over your face with a brush to give a slightly reflective glow. Easier than blusher I don't know to apply blusher either!
