Work bag - Mia tui?

I need a new bag for work. I go into the office a couple of times a week plus into hq in London once every couple of weeks and to client sites.

I need to carry laptop, purse and phone obvs, make up bag, general crap like pens and staff passes plus I need to take my laptop power lead.

I would like a back pack as more secure and a shoulder strap pulls my back out.

Oh and I want tan - I don't wear black much at all. And I don't want fabric. I know leather will be unlikely given budget.

Budget is up to £100 but ideally under £75.

I have see Mia tui mentioned but also some comments to say they look cheap?

My black one is lovely and doesn’t look cheap.

I have a tan one , it's ok , doesn't look like leather imo , it does the job but if I'm being honest I didn't love it from first sight.

I have the Mia Tui 'Sydney' backpack and love it. Doesn't look cheap at all, and I've had mine several years, and it still looks like new.

I got a lovely leather backpack last year from Oliver Bonas which I use when commuting.
They don't have the one I bought any more but plenty of not-black options. I was really surprised how good the quality was for the price

Mia Tui bags are fab, well made and I don't think they look cheap. Customer service is excellent if you need to return

I have a mia tui gym bag/travel bag. So I can’t comment about the leather quality of the handbags as my bag is fabric but I’m very happy with the quality of mine.

They are very practical, lots of useful bits inside but they are not very stylish and I think that they do look a bit cheap.

I went in oliver bonas yesterday and also drooling over the backpacks. Not leather though. Try Vinted for tan leather.

Pootle40 · 21/05/2023 07:56

The Mia Tui are faux leather.

What about one of these?

If you have problems with your back would you be consider getting a ‘proper’ rucksack designed to hold a laptop rather than a nice looking one iyswim? Or even a trolley case?

Colinorpercy · 21/05/2023 08:12

I have a Mia Tui that I got from Vinted for travelling - it’s the shoulder style rather than backpack. I like it but the only thing I’d say about mine is it’s quite heavy to start with. I do like all the handy pockets and stuff though.

museumum · 21/05/2023 10:03

I think a Mia Tui in tan would look cheap as do obviously not real leather in tan. I think the MT bags look best in colour.

vestanesta · 21/05/2023 15:34

Thanks for all of these. I think the issue is the tan isn't it - the faux leather looks more obviously faux.

I had seen the le pillage (I'd probably get navy and tan) but I think I need to see in person. The Oliver bonas ones are lovely - again I may look at the green one for size but I also liked the navy.

I've recommended this before but have a look at Cabaia. Half the staff at my workplace have them Smile, including me. Excellent quality and a really good guarantee service if anything went wrong (which it won't).
