Hair disaster

Miliemoo12 · 19/05/2023 12:13

So I had my hair done this week, I had a consultation a couple of months back and showed a few photos and the stylist said this one (first photo) is absolutely achievable for you and we can go for that so I booked in. During the process we said how it will be ashy and blonde and we both said no warmth and the stylist said it will have obvious blonde hi lights as it does in the photo. Roll around a few days ago this is what I've come out with
I emailed them but had no response and I've called today waiting for a call back, but told it may just need a toner, which I know won't fix this
What would you do?

Oh dear! That is nothing like the pictures.
wev a been there and it's horrible when you pay a bucket load and it's not right. I find you can't really see it properly aswell until you get home out of the bright lights.

have they responded yet?

Bobbybobbins · 19/05/2023 14:35

Agree it's not like the photo at all though I actually prefer the colour of yours!

Softoprider · 19/05/2023 14:37

Take a good look at the photo. She is photographed using bright lights to make the colour appear brighter and light. Her face tells you by the shine that they used professional lighting to achieve that look.

peachicecream · 19/05/2023 14:41

There are definite warm tones in your hair, which are not in the picture you supplied and you explicitly said you didn't want them and they assured you they wouldn't be there.

It's unprofessional at best, I would give them the chance to put it right but insist on a refund if it doesn't work.

Warmth in hair colour is a nightmare, I have the same issue and salons keep telling me they can fix it but they never do.

Miliemoo12 · 19/05/2023 15:09

@Mangotango39 it's just so frustrating! Nope no call back yet, It was the owner who I spoke to this morning too which makes it even more annoying!

Miliemoo12 · 19/05/2023 15:10

@Softoprider Absolutely aware of that but when I have taken 4 photos of very blonde ashy photos in, and my stylist said this one is achievable then regard

Sorry @Softopriderthat sent too early! Regardless of it's photoshopped bright white (which I would not expect to achieve and leave the salon with hair 🙃) my stylist said she can do the colour in the photo and I have previously had that colour

@Bobbybobbins thank you ai really appreciate that. I've had it shoved up since I got it done, just hate warm tones in my hair which she knew 😭

@peachicecream It is an absolute nightmare isn't it! I went in about 3 months ago for a consultation so I had time to book in with another salon if they couldn't achieve it, I went in with 4 ashy blonde photos and she chose this one. I've always come out ashy blonde after hilights but moved area so using a new salon. Emailed Tuesday (same day as I had it done) messaged via Facebook Wednesday and called this morning at 9.09, still no call back. I will absolutely give them a chance to put it right but a toner won't do it. I booked in for a big family celebration as well so absolutely gutted 😭

Yeah I always feel like toner is a cop-out especially as it fades after a few washes anyway. I've never had one last longer than 2-3 weeks. They probably need to strip it out and recolour it.

Ohfgsjon · 19/05/2023 15:39

Not only is it not the sane colour but it's not done very well either. It's not blended at all. Ashy blonde like that however is really difficult to achieve and not many colourist can do it.

Nonylonneeded · 19/05/2023 15:43

Urgh op yours doesn’t look bad but the same just happened to me… showed a pic similar to yours and came back with some sort of weird honey green. Think the colourist lost her nerve on the day and started talking about the potential for breakage etc. Gutted …it cost an absolute fortune . They told me to come back for a toner or book in to ‘add some blonder bits later’ 💰

Miliemoo12 · 19/05/2023 15:52

@Ohfgsjon I was in the salon for 6 hours and that's what the outcome is. I have never had an issue being that blonde after a full head of hi lights, I've even had scalp bleach and it was really ashy, I just wanted something that would grow out easier than that. No it really has got a real band hasn't it, doesn't blend in at all, I think that's what makes it worse, especially when I told her I only straighten it or wear it up nowadays

OP posts:
Miliemoo12 · 19/05/2023 15:54

@Nonylonneeded Honestly I genuinely think they might do it worse to get you to come in again! Without realising you'll go somewhere else to someone who is capable of what you're wanting! Yeah it really isn't cheap is it! Sorry yours has turned out bad too!

Can I just add photos of how my hair can go, 1 is a scalp bleach and the other is one set of full head bleach hi lights.. There is jo

Both very blonde and both me, just didn't like my face in that one 🙈

Oh god I feel your pain.
I just sat for 5 hours expecting this.
I've ended up with practically the same hair I started with - just basic highlights and lowlights all over - I was expecting chunky balayage and got blah hair.
£130 as well.

The problem we will both have with potentially going back, is will they be able to do it right or is it better to cut losses and go somewhere else?

Miliemoo12 · 19/05/2023 20:29

@JMAngel1 Mine cost £177 😂 shouldn't laugh really but it is absolutely ridiculous considering the service! It's so disappointing isn't it, you get so excited to get your hair done and it is nothing like it at all! I've contacted them via email and Facebook messenger (added photos with it) with no response this week so called this morning and told by the owner the stylist would call me back and nothing! I'm not dropping it though. Definitely get in touch with your salon, they may even offer for someone else to rectify it or offer some sort of refund. It's too much money to spend on a service that isn't fulfilled to how it should be!

£177!
Good god, that's crazy.
I thought mine was expensive.
