Looking for a stunningly beautiful denim shirt to wear open on top of vests. Would love something soft, with a beautiful denim hue. No frills, puffed sleeves, embroidery, etc. Suggestions welcome!

Levi’s is probably a good bet for uncomplicated and classic. Both of mine are Levi’s and came from charity shops so don’t cost over seven pounds.

I'm not sure a denim shirt could ever be called stunningly beautiful, but I've had my J Crew one for years and it still looks good. It gets better with age.

I have a lovely one from some random shop in Australia about 7 years ago, it has a split back which I still love and makes it less clunky! Not the most help lol but I know not very helpful

But agree with pp - Levis is a good shout.

Sorry don't know why I typed that twice, extra unhelpful Grin

I got a great one from new look last year. Really soft, quite a thin pale denim and pearlised press stud buttons. I love it!

Depending on your budget APC do lovely denim shirts. I've had mine from there for years and it still looks good.

I actually got a couple from Tu at sainsburys
One a collarless looser style and a traditional western style
Both with pearl poppers
Decent quality too.. I was surprised
There are lots on Vinted including Levis if you don't mind preowned
( benefit of that is they're softer)
I love my denims

I got a lovely one from Boden last year (very useful, and with nice colourful stripes inside the cuffs... but probably not stunningly beautiful!)

I don't think they have anything similar this season annoyingly.

I bought a lovely soft tensil ?one in the sale. It’s a typical no fuss western style one and I’ve never worn it as unsure what to put on the bottom half as l live in jeans….is double denim too much. I could happily wear it over a vest..but what do l wear on bottom bit?

uncomfortablydumb53 · 17/05/2023 16:38

I think double denim is absolutely fine I sometimes wear a shirt open with a white T shirt underneath
You could always wear white/ cream/ black jeans or chino type trousers/ cargo pants too

I bought a decent looking denim overshirt in Stradivarius just last week. Think it cost £22.

WombatBombat · 17/05/2023 20:24

H&M do a really soft one every year. I picked mine up on Vinted.

mewkins · 17/05/2023 20:52

M&s do a chambray linen shirt. It's lovely - thick enough to hold its shape but cool enough to wear in summer.
