Prom Dress <£100

My daughter has finally decided that she does want to attend her Y11 prom.

Im not willing to spend silly money on a dress that won't ever be worn again. Budget is <£100, closer to £50 even better, would like it to be wearable in future. Daughter not a fan of princess or 'poofy" styles much prefers slinky and simple. Could anyone suggest where i should be looking? I did see a post a few months back asking similar and the suggestions were great- stupidly i didn't save the post!

TIA

Sorry, doesn't appear my OP posted correctly!

So budget £100 but closer to £50 even better. Would like it to be wearable in future. Daughter is not a fan of Princess ballgowns or 'poufy' styles much prefers slinky and simple.

I did see a similar post a few months ago that had some great suggestions but stupidly didn't save it. Where should I be looking?

TIA

Coast is always worth a look
Lipsy sell through Next and have some nice ones. You can often pick up a range in the next outlet stores.
Debenhams were always my go to for formal wear and they still sell online.
Our local charity shops had loads of beautiful ones in when I was wondering around last week.

ASOS is a good place to look.

My DD's dress is from Shein (yes I know) and it was £35 and she looks absolutely amazing in it.

Ever pretty is were I get DD's evening gowns from (musician so got through lots)

I've not looked this week, but eBay has a hefty selection of dresses. Take DD's measurements and figure out the sizes for each brand.

We have a JJ House sparkly number arriving shortly.

You've had lots of good suggestions but also try Asos, Next online as they have lots of brands and also local selling sites/Facebook marketplace

We got my daughter's dress from Club L London. It looks lovely on. We did all of the formal prom dress shopping and she liked her online dress the best!

BusySittingDown · 15/05/2023 20:58

My DD got a bridesmaid dress last year from Ever Pretty. It could be used for a prom dress and was around £50.

GivingItAWhirl · 15/05/2023 20:59

Roman dresses - own website or via Next. Daughter with very similar viewpoint!
