Highlighted, bleach blonde hair- swimming pools & sea! What to do?

My hair has been highlighted all over about 2 years ago. It is dry and a bit frazzled. Going on holiday and clueless about how to keep hair protected from chlorinated pool and sea.
I don't like the idea of leave-in conditioner. I do not know where to start with so many products around, what to do to stop it going green or dehydrated?
Advice and tips very much appreciated.

The most important thing for pools is not to go in with dry hair - best thing to do is to wet hair first, then comb through a product to protect it - ordinary coconut oil would do - or if you prefer a dedicated swim product.
Then shampoo out after

Use a swim shampoo and conditioner after. Possibly a sim hat but not sure you’d want to wear one on holiday?

If you had it highlighted two years ago hasn't it grown out ?
I shouldn't think you'll need to do anything particularly. Maybe apply a hair mask.

Phillip Kingsley swim cap. I know you don’t like the leaa as fe in conditioner but this stuff is a game changer.

Thank you, very grateful for the tips! It is still very much highlighted so will go for PK swim cap conditioner mentioned here. I look silly in one of those swim rubber hats and don't have the confidence to wear one.

Can you tell me more about this product pls? Does it keep your hair in a slicked back style? Mine is short so I can’t tie it up.

I second this! Even when I was in and out of the pool constantly (doing lifeguard training), my hair never suffered. I always use Swimcap when I'm going in a pool. The fear of green hair keeps me disciplined. I tend to just use 'regular' leave-in conditioner for the sea though.

Not really slicked back it dries like a body product so you can do a tousled beach look or slick it back with water.

It’s like the love child of pk hair elasticiser and waterproof sunscreen for hair. When you wash it out (shampoo twice) your hair feels really soft and is glossy/ shiny. It is expensive though. I have fine collarbone length hair and get five goes out the 75ml so 2 bottles for a weeks holiday. Its worth it to protect your highlights/ hair though.
