Size 15 trainers; where to get

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 17:33

DS is just growing out of his size 14 trainers and the next step up seems quite difficult to get. He needs comfy ones and as plain black as possible as he wears them for school. He has had Skechers before but apart from the go walk slip ons, they don't go up to a size 15. There are some on asics but they are £150 😢. No luck on Adidas. Nike are very expensive. Sports direct have some very cheap ones but they don't look great. Does anyone have any tips?

I think DS had some black New Balance trainers in a 14 or 15 for school - some time ago now but they were one of the very few brands that went that big.
He currently wears Merrell shoes or trainers but they are expensive for a schoolboy.

gogogoji · 14/05/2023 20:32

Christ how tall is he?

DoverWight · 14/05/2023 20:45

Amazon or walktall?

itsmylife7 · 14/05/2023 20:54

2tall .......clothes etc for very tall slim men. shoes start at size 13 upwards they may have what you need.

JimBob61 · 14/05/2023 22:05

My ds is 6.6 and takes a size 14 shoe.
He gets a lot of his clothes online from Jacamo. I think their trainers go up to a size 18

Shouldbedoing · 14/05/2023 22:05

New Balance go right up the sizes

Wenfy · 14/05/2023 22:08

Measure his feet and then look. Sizeing isn’t consistant at these larger sizes so he might be higher or lower. Jacamo is usually my go to

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:22

Thanks all. I'm checking out your suggestions. New balance have a small selection but none in black sadly. Merrell UK now seem to only go up to a 14, they seem to have larger ones for sale in the US. I think I'm going to have to adjust my budget significantly! He is 6'4" and only just turned 14. I really hope his feet are fully grown.

Would the school make allowances maybe?

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:25

All the size 15s on jacamo are wide fit, and he is really skinny with narrow feet so not sure they would fit. I might have to spend a fortune ordering a few with the aim of returning some.

My son is size 15 foot and he gets his plain black school runners from Nike at sports direct website they are 70 euro

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:32

Is that a European Sports direct site IwishIwasaballer ? I couldn't find any size 15 nikes on the UK site. If so do they deliver to uk?

I'm planning to phone some nike outlet stores tomorrow to see if they have anything <£100

@Epictantrum
2TALL.com
go on their and search black trainers. they've got size 15

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:35

There are some quite nice Vans on the 2tall website, not sure how supportive/cushioned they are.
School have been quite helpful allowing trainers, I think if he went in with bright white trainers with black trousers etc he would stand out, and presumably they would look even more massive!

If it’s any reassurance - my DS’s feet stopped growing at age 14 (size 13) so keeping fingers crossed!

Try walk tall https://www.walktall.co.uk/product-category/categories/trainers-sports/

Adidas, Nike, Puma etc seem to be scaling back on larger sizes on their website but often have larger sizes on Amazon:
adidas Men's Last 10 Trainers https://amzn.eu/d/38baW1Y

Some other styles are silly prices for teen trainers but keep looking as the prices fluctuate wildly over days! Search “brand” trainers and then you should be able to filter size 14.

If your budget is £100 you’ll definitely find shoes on Amazon…

NIKE Men's Flex Experience Run 11 Trainers https://amzn.eu/d/dashOig

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:41

Those nikes all go up to a 14 max. He has Nikes in a 14 and his toe is right on the end.

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:42

We usually spend up to around £50 on his trainers but I've realised I'm not going to have any luck at all at that level.

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:44

Thanks so much everyone, I've gone from having 1 or 2 possibilities to loads of options to show him tomorrow so fingers crossed we will find something.

The Adidas in my first reply are black with white soles for £45 and these Nike ones are 100% black and £61…

My DH is a size 15 and we get his from sports direct, but it does very much depend what theyve got in when you look. We’ve had to wait weeks before for something he likes to appear.
(my DH is ‘only’ 6ft2 so his feet are a tad ridiculous 🤣)

ChristmasJumpers · 14/05/2023 22:52

DH is a size 15 and has had some luck at shops like sports direct and Schuh. Basically walking in and asking what they have in his size and taking it from there.
Under Armour Project Rock do larger sizes too but they are more expensive. DH loves them for the fit and waits for them in sales. Not sure if they do plain black but worth a look

Epictantrum · 14/05/2023 22:56

I might be being dense movingstars; those trainers look great and are exactly what we want but I still can't find any in a size 15 in any of the colours.

Nike - just keep an eye on the website. There is a sale atm.
