First intimate wax-tips?

Decided to see what it was like to be

a) waxed
b) bald

Mid 40s and first time. Currently closely trimmed and tidy. Booking for a couple of weeks time.

Any tips to prepare please?

Gentle exfoliate the area a couple of times a week and just before (I just use my face exfoliator). And ensure you don't trim too short, let the beautician do it for you if you're unsure.
