I’ve just looked at my legs for the first time since I was about 33. That was probably the last time I shaved them. My skin looks dry, blotchy and there are broken veins and cellulite in places.
Any advice for giving them some TLC (and me some confidence)?

Use a good moisturiser morning and night (I use body butters)

depending on how high maintenance you want to go, I swear by Sally Hanson leg make up as well. It blurs over any imperfections, but if you aren’t into fake tan it might be too much for you!

Shameful hijack because I'm wondering about whether tanning drops (that you mix with your usual moisturiser) might be worth a try and if anybody can recommend them.

In the meantime, I'm using this body butter and am contemplating some sort of exfoliator scrub. If my legs feel especially dry I use Weleda which is basically like putting lard on, but sinks in really nicely.

I like the tan luxe drops that you mix into your moisturiser - the shade light / medium gives a nice natural result.

Otherwise this is v good for an instant fix (in shade light) - I'm naturally quite olive skinned as am half Asian but the darker ones seem to look way less natural. I have a lot of thread veins and this pretty much covers them

I get dry skin on my shins and find applying a little bit of body oil before drying is far better than body lotion. I like the Aesop Geranium one but I dare say any would do the job just as well.

Neutrogena spray leg oil
body pump.

Thank you everyone. I’ve dry-brushed, exfoliated, shaved and moisturised this evening. Never heard of leg makeup, so that’s something to consider.

Cerave moisturiser and e45 shower cream (so they don't get dried out in the shower). My dermatologist put me onto that combo and it's been a game changer for me.
