Rose perfume

Hi all,
I want a rose based perfume that smells more like rose syrup than rose petals - or perhaps somewhere in between. I want something I can keep at work - so relatively cheap.

This is a super sweet (and cheap) rose. It's too sweet for me but it might fit the bill for you. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Gres/Cabotine-Rose-4859.html

My fave roses are Serge Lutens Sa Majeste La Rose and Paul Smith Rose. But both smell like rose petals so not what you're looking for.

justanothernamechangemonday · 13/05/2023 19:33

I love L'occitane rose, it is more petals than syrup though.

Bairnsmum05 · 13/05/2023 22:07

Paul Smith?

tobee · 13/05/2023 22:59

I got this from Amazon recently; it's very much a straight rose so not sure if it fits the bill of syrup? But I really like it and a little goes a long way:

My favourite is Paul Smith Rose. I'm always being asked what I'm wearing.

RK800 · 15/05/2023 10:59

I really like Rose Jam from Lush, smells really nice and is long lasting.

StoneColdAlibi · 15/05/2023 11:00

Balenciaga Florabotanica

Neals Yard do one. I don't think it is cheap though around £42 its gorgeous...has geranium in it too though so not completely Rose.

Monkeymonkeymoo · 16/05/2023 14:08

I second Lush ‘Rose Jam’ it smells like Turkish Delight!

orangepoang · 16/05/2023 20:23

Take a look for yourself but I was given "ghost - the fragrance" for my birthday. Its the one in the tall curvy bottle. I quite like rose, don't love it but this is sweeter and i really do enjoy wearing it. affordable too

orangepoang · 16/05/2023 20:25

tall, curvy and blue bottle

HicLocusEst · 16/05/2023 20:35

I bet 4160 Tuesdays roses are jammy. Everything they do is very very very sweet (it's why I don't like them!)

Eggbuttie · 16/05/2023 20:36

Penhaligons Elizabethan rose is gorgeous

Mxflamingnoravera · 16/05/2023 20:37

Le Labo Rose 31

Rainyrunway · 16/05/2023 21:04

Le.Labo is a bit expensive to keep in a work drawer though 😬
I agree Lush Rose Jam

Moorlander · 16/05/2023 21:13

I've had the Neil's Yard one and it is lovely, like Turkish delight.

SBAM · 16/05/2023 21:18

I like Philosophy Pure Grace Nude Rose, to me it smells quite fresh. They also do one called Ballet Rose which is sweeter.

Thank you everyone for the latest recommendations

If you are on a budget Next do a great one called Velvet Rose, I bought it as a travel spray and have had a few compliments on it

Alazne58 · 19/05/2023 15:11

Recently got a sample with online order, Rose Passion - Jimmy Choo...lovely fragrance rose perfume. Went on my wishlist.

feralunderclass · 19/05/2023 15:17

Molton Brown rose dunes is really nice, a bit pricey for your work drawer though. I was in recently though and signed up to their loyalty scheme and she gave me a free perfume sample, maybe try that?
