Over sized linen shirt

I have been reading on other threads people recommending oversized linen shirts to go over dresses or tucked into shorts etc.

Please help me find a perfect oversized linen shirt? I've no idea what I'm looking for and the choice on m&s is overwhelming to someone with no clue!

I'm a size 12-14 but with 38DD chest.

Tricky - your perfect shirt may not be mine. And the perfect shirt for one outfit may not be the same for another. So what I'm saying is, trial and error. Can you get to a ship and try some on? TK Maxx have loads in just now too.
I love linen shirts and have loads, trend to get them from eBay or charity shops. Though I do have my eye on a cropped boxy red one in Cos.

Also - have you checked your bra sizing on boob or bust? At 12-14 its unlikely your back size is 38, much more likely you're a 34/36 F/FF, not trying to be rude at all honest!

@thedevilinablackdress oh no, I thought it would be something simple, no wonder it seemed overwhelming! I do have a very good TK Max local to me so will check out there thank you.

@iknowimcoming I haven't checked my bra sizing on boob or bust however, M&S measured me at a 36F last September and the bras just weren't right, too baggy mainly. I got measured at an independent fitting shop in February and they measured me at a 38DD and the bras fit like a dream! But the sweater I'm currently wearing is a Hush small, and I wear size 14 dresses in AnyDay and I have bought a size 12 dress from M&S :) not sure if they're generous in their sizing but that's the last couple of things I've bought.

I have the M&S ones - I think they're called pure linen oversized shirts - in a couple of colours. I find the arms a tiny bit short but nothing to complain about really and they're pretty true to size.

I love the M and s pink one with white stripe through it.

Another vote for the M&S one, good quality linen...

I’ve recently got a black one in Arket and a cropped white one in H&M. Really pleased with them.

I got one from H and M last week. I'm waiting for it to be warm enough to wear it.

This thread has cheered me up as I have a number of oversized linen shirts bought years ago that are now back in style. What a pity winter is approaching in Melbourne.

COs and Arket have a good selection. Also some in Jigsaw.

I've bought three from H&M. If you order with Klarna you can try before you buy, which can be helpful if you want to try out the sizing.

I got a nice one in Primark and last year one in Stradivarius. Most shops have them. Being oversized they tend to go over my big bust even in XS (I’m 30FF) and it’s nice to have that option but you can just wear them open.

Thank you all, I think what I have taken from this is that I really need to go and hunt something down in a shop to try on and gauge what I like etc. I appreciate all suggestions and recommendations.

They are everywhere now, I think you just have to go out and have a look and try on. I got a fab cropped one similar to the H+M one above, in Primark (yep) and it is perfect as a cardi type thing over dresses, and on its own too. So versatile.

I have these linen shirts. All in gorgeous blues as I'm currently obsessed.
The first two are from M&S
The last from H&M.
Just be aware that some of the oversized shirts are enormous this year & I'm invariably always sizing down.

@Cantonet thank you, I've got those on my phone so when I go to M&S tomorrow I can try and find them! I am also trying to take inspiration from down the bottom of the page where people have submitted pics of themselves so I've got something to aim for look wise! I just love the effortless look of them but I am hoping I don't just look like awkward and school like!

Yes. I’m going to go back for a black one, I think. I really like the cropped length for over dresses.
