No show socks

Recommendations for ones that don't immediately end up tightly crumpled under your foot please?!? I wear them with brogues for work and it's very annoying!!

Not trainer socks - they're fine. But I've tried so many brands of no show socks and the only successful ones are some ancient gap ones with a really thin rubbery elastic trim...but I only have one pair left!

I have some from Primark which are excellent - they are sort of ruched across the top and that along with rubber grips at the back really keep them in place. However they are a few years old too and I don’t know if they still do them. Worth checking though.

Uniqlo, expensive but best ones around!

antwacky · 11/05/2023 19:58

I bought these last year and have been very pleased with them. I'm able to wear a pair of shoes that I bought over decade ago but couldn't wear as I couldn't find the right socks.

Honestly I think with those no show ones you need to find the right fit for your feet, and what suits one person won’t suit someone else!

I tried a few brands and finally found success with Next’s version, but my sister swears by Dunnes!

chalkyc2 · 11/05/2023 21:02

Thanks I will try and report back.

I certainly think they need to be slightly on the small side - if there's too much material they are a disaster.

Try sketchers ones. Work well for me

I came on to say the same about these. They are fab

SavBlancTonight · 11/05/2023 22:28

I got some Calvin Klein ones at TK Maxx the other day - 3 pairs for £6.99. They have been amazingly good. Not sure if they're cut quite low enough for you - depends on your shoes I suspect.

imapterodactyl · 11/05/2023 22:34

Primark are the only ones I've found to work. Not the sock material ones, the more like tights ones, about £2.50 for a few pairs. Other than that were M&S gym trainer socks but you can still see material above. Comfy though.

You've reminded me to get some, I have tried and failed to get on board with the white sport sock trend and it's time to go back to my trusty hidey socks again.

antwacky · 11/05/2023 22:36

@SpecialControlGroup glad someone else thinks so. I've bought dozens of various brands over the years and most end up discarded after being worn once. I think the trick for me was getting the sizing right, very often normal 3-7 size end up bunched up under my arch but these come in two different sizes and the larger ones are perfect for me, I couldnt believe that they stayed in place all day. Total game changer.

ATerrorofLeftovers · 11/05/2023 22:41

The M&S ones are good. Don’t show, but do stay on your feet. They have a bit of rubbery grippy stuff at the heel.

bunchofforgetmenots · 11/05/2023 22:41

I had this problem for years and years, sweaty feet, but I couldn't find any that didn't fall off (narrow feet) Then I tried this kind of washable terry insoles, they work perfectly for me! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenzen-Comfort-Insoles/dp/B07D3QGVFX?th=1

Next mesh style ones, but not the cotton ones.

MoveOnTheCards · 12/05/2023 07:05

Definitely Uniqlo. £13 for 3 pairs but the only ones I’ve found that don’t budge at all and are completely no-show.

ChattermaxFromBluey · 12/05/2023 07:11

I got mine from primark, as PP they’re kind of like tights material or bra material or something. Mine were edged with lace and slightly elastic with non slip. They’re brilliant.

EversoDisorganised · 12/05/2023 07:43

Primark mesh type ones are by far the best I've tried. I had to hunt around a bit to find them last time I bought some

These are the only ones that don't scrunch up under my feet:

I can't recommend these highly enough. I have dozens of pairs (as now share them with my two daughters) cos they're brilliant. They're low and have have rubber grips on the heel/ankle. They're cheap as chips and stay put all day (I'm a carer so do at least 8-10 miles walking per 12hr shift)

MrsJBaptiste · 12/05/2023 16:17

Like @EversoDisorganised I have loads of pairs of those secret socks from Primark.

They look like toddler socks now they've been in the tumble drier 101 times but still stretch over my size 7 feet without wrinkling down in my shoes.

ZaZathecat · 12/05/2023 16:31

I buy men's as I am a size 8. Women's one's never stay one, I think they just have to be big enough. Primark men's suit me.
