Hi
I'm looking for some nude eyeshadow which stays on! This is for day to day use so I don't want it too sparkly!!!

You could try using a concealer? I do that sometimes

Bells3032 · 10/05/2023 15:07

Urban decay is great but v pricey. If you have a primark nearby i actually find their eye shadows fab!

It's probably not the eyeshadow that's the problem as I can get any eyeshadow to last all day, more likely the application. What are you putting on underneath it?

herringboner · 10/05/2023 15:13

You have to have a 'tacky' base for the shadows to stick to.

Put some concealer on your eyes first as a base and then use the shadows. You don't need to set the concealer if you're putting powder shadows on top.

Small brushes using circular motions and build up the colour from lightest to darkest. Put your base colour in the crease of your eye and work down the colours from lightest to darkest. :)

The Bobbi Brown cream sticks were going to be my vote too, find them great. Bit of a pain to find the colours in stock though.

Revolution (available at Superdrug) does an amazing range of nudes and near nudes that don't cost the earth and stay on for hrs. I've been using them daily for about 3yrs now.

Niftythrifter · 10/05/2023 17:14

Kiko do good eyeshadow sticks and Primark’s eyeshadow primer is pretty decent. P

The Bobbi Brown eyeshadow sticks stay on all day. For nude I would go for taupe or sand. They are so good!

tiredhadenough · 10/05/2023 17:22

I do use a primer but it's a bit rubbish I think. Can't remember the make. Just don't think the eye shadow I use can be seen really.

I'll have a look at some of the suggestions and try a different primer. Thank you all

Barry m eyeshadow stays on alllll day! Really good for the price

PennyAndThatSword · 10/05/2023 19:35

It’s a hard no from me re the Bobbi brown sticks, they’re rubbish now! I don’t think Bobbi brown is still with that company.

Sorry to be negative but I used to use her products when they first came out and they were so good. The stick I bought recently is a bit scratchy and far too sparkly even though it’s not meant to be. It didn’t have staying power at all.

so I’m also looking for recs as you are!

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 10/05/2023 20:20

Kiko sticks are much better than the Bobbi Brown ones and cost about £7.
Mac paint pot in Groundwork is brilliant too. Rimmel Cloud wonder (or sth) liquid eyeshadow also stays put.

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 10/05/2023 20:23

Bobbi Brown herself hasn't been with Bobbi Brown the company for a few years now. And I agree, the products and the whole ethos has changed. If you look at Instagram videos of the current make up artists doing faces, they're frankly awful. The whole neutral polished look has gone and it's two ton of glowy shit and shovelling on the foundation two shades too orange to be topped off with some wedgy bronzing stripes.
