Ivory jacket for a wedding?

Ifulikepinacoladas · 10/05/2023 13:59

I have this jumpsuit for a wedding in October. I will be wearing pointy boots (don't do shoes) and a cropped/small jacket or blazer. The obvious colour to go with this is cream or ivory. Is an ivory jacket ok for a wedding, in terms of wearing 'white'?Because I have so much of the other colour of the jumpsuit I'm thinking it is, but need to check. Otherwise a deeper cream would be better.

Alternatively, are there any other colours that would go with this outfit?

I was going to recommend the same one!

OP i think white/cream jackets at a wedding are fine when worn over a coloured outfit. It would work beautifully with that jumpsuit.

I think ivory / cream would be fine with so much colour in the jumpsuit.

That's fine- no one is going to mistake you for the bride in that.

Love the jumpsuit.

DiscoBeat · 11/05/2023 01:13

Totally fine. Lovely colour!

Thanks all. I feel like I've seen every jacket in existence, the M&S one is def an option.

I ordered this one yesterday as its on offer. If should be here later... along with a navy one that i wanted to try.

What are opinions on navy with the jumpsuit?

I think navy would look as though you had worn your only jacket and were hoping it would do, tbh. You were right with the white/ivory for that jumpsuit (which is lovely).

@LoobyDop
😂
I think you are probably right...I'll find out later.

Although if you had other navy accessories it could work.

I agree that cream will look fresh and lovely, and the outfit isn’t at all bridal.

Ifulikepinacoladas · 11/05/2023 13:14

@CharlotteStreetW1 I have seen some navy boots.

Although ivory is the obvious match (thank u for reassurance re colour - wasnt that I thought I'd look bridal, more that I wouldn't want other people just thinking 'ooh no one should wear white' ...) it looks quite a summery outfit, and the wedding is Oct. Hence why I'm trying to think of an alternative. I love the colour of the jumpsuit, but it is quite a tricky one to match with.

I'll try everything on later and DD can give me her honest (she will be!) opinion!

If you want a more wintery colour, how about dark green? That could look lovely, and a less obvious choice than navy. I don’t dislike navy- it forms most of my wardrobe- but it’s so ubiquitous it risks being seen like black used to be, as just a neutral backdrop for everything else.

Ifulikepinacoladas · 11/05/2023 17:40

@BeccyMumsnet thank u, that one is lovely but not for me. I agree the colour is possibly better for an October wedding, but I do love the colour of the one I have.
The ivory jacket has arrived and is gorgeous, I think I'll keep it regardless 😁
Will report back when I have tried it all on.

I think I wore that same one that you have ordered to a wedding
