Have seen the recent threads re wearing trainers with dresses but I’m not sure that’s for me or if it’s too casual for a graduation ceremony and garden party.

I last wore a dress and block heel at a wedding last year and don’t want to put my feet through that again. I am looking for something with a supportive footbed and if it comes up on the wider side so much the better. Not really fussed about style just can’t wear anything completely flat and hate ankle straps as they accentuate cankles. Will have a black or a brown largish tote bag.

Can’t find the exact dress on the website now but am wearing similar to this

I also hate bare legs so have been looking for a closed toe which seem few and far between. Can I wear a more open style with tights? I live in sketchers and Birkenstock’s. Please help!

Strive - beautiful sandals and they last.

Not heard of that brand. Thanks Summerhillsquare Will check those out. Something that wouldn’t sit gathering dust afterwards would be a definite plus!

If you are near a Pavers shoe shop, they have really comfortable cushioned sandals and wide fit ones.

Have you looked at Vionic? There was a thread on here the other day about shoes for a wedding for 'difficult' feet. A few lovely brands I hadn't heard of before were suggested on there. Can't remember the names but really nice special occasion shoes.
