What’s lotion?

I’ve treated myself to some Clarins face products and the mask says to remove with a cotton pad soaked in lotion-it this toner? I have so many products but no ‘lotion’! I feel very silly not knowing this!

I would assume it means cleansing lotion.

It’s weird wording. Lotion makes me think of body lotion or some kind of runny mystery moisturiser from the 1970s.

I have a million cleansers but none of them are ‘lotions’, they’re all balms or gel washes or oils.

What sort of mask is it? It’s usually okay to take them off with a warm flannel.

I bought it direct while at a spa so only had the packet instructions. Just Googled the product (it’s Clarins SOS comfort nourishing balm face mask) and on the Boots website it says ‘toning lotion’ so I’ve used a toner.

It needed to be applied to completely cleansed skin which made me think it wouldn’t be a cleanser before and after application. Thanks for the answers. The mask was lovely!
