And won't irritate my scalp! Something that smells fresh and not like cheap fake florals.

Highly recommend the Body Shop Ginger shampoo. It’s great for dry / sore / itchy scalp (I have heard from people with skin conditions that they prefer it to prescribed shampoo) and it doesn’t leave any build up. I would say it’s fresh smelling, but not very strong.

I second that! My daughter has very thick hair and suffered with a dry scalp and other shampoos left her hair dry and musty smelling. The body shop shampoo is great!

I love soapnut shampoo https://www.soapnuts.co.uk/products/bergamot-ylang-soapnut-shampoo-200ml

It's expensive but my hairdresser told me to get a cheap squeezy ketchup type bottle, a tiny bit of shampoo in it and top up with water, then apply to roots using the nozzle - it gets where it needs to go and you don't use much shampoo. Smells ace and no build up.

Bergamot & Ylang Soapnut Shampoo

This fragrant formulation, which contains conditioning organic botanical extracts will cleanse your hair and promote strong healthy hair growth.

Aveeno apple cider shampoo is good.

Bedhead. Best shampoo ever

I have very fine hair that gets greasy just looking at it and suffers with build up from some products.

The one that suits my hair the best is Sainsbury's own apple shampoo! It's cheap but it's the only one I've found that stops it looking greasy after a few hours or getting a build up and smells lovely too.

I've tried expensive ones but found this the best, but I guess it depends on your hair type.

I have just started using the coco and eve shampoo and conditioner and my hair is soft and shiny. It is the Sodium lauryl sulphate and parabens in shampoos that irritate my scalp so the body shop ginger shampoo has never been good for me. Bath and body works brand from next has also been good and non irritating for me but it made my hair soft and a bit fluffy rather than shiny and frizz free. Coc and eve are not cheap but you only need a tiny amount and they are on offer in boots at the moment.

Faith in Nature Rosemary is absolutely lovely. I also like the citrussy one.

I just use Simple shower gel now. EVERY shampoo I have tried leaves a film on my hair. Simple just leaves it clean and light.

I love the aveeno fresh green blend shampoo and conditioner. Smells gorgeous, and works well. Available from home bargains usually.

Sukin make good shampoo.

Aveda used to do an Apple Cider range, but haven't bought any since kids as too expensive now, but it did what you are looking for.

this was what I came on to say! It’s lovely

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 09/05/2023 19:47

Any faith in nature ones. My scalp looked dry once I began using them, but my hairdresser told me to persevere as it’s the change from more sls based shampoos and now it’s shiny and smells great! My favourite is the dragon fruit range. Swishy stuff!

PimpMyFridge · 09/05/2023 21:25

You have success with faith in nature! I find it dries my scalp horribly (have tried several in the range as bought some on offer and had to use them up) and makes me so itchy because of that.

BonjourCrisette · 09/05/2023 23:28

I really like Faith in Nature. I do have relatively oily hair/scalp, though, so maybe that's why.

Comefromaway · 09/05/2023 23:31

After years of itchy scalp and the only thing I could tolerate being neutropenia coal tar but left my hair limp I discovered Noughtie which I buy from Superdrug. It’s great.
