Serum Foundation to replace The Ordinary

Utterlypeanuterly · 07/05/2023 22:22

Does anyone have a recommendation for a serum foundation to replace my The Ordinary Serum Foundation? My last bottle is nearly empty and it's now discontinued. I wear shade 2N. I have dry, sensitive skin.
I'm looking for something similar in texture, unfragranced and with light coverage.
Willing to consider any price under £60.
Thanks

I got more Ordinary serum foundation from Amazon about 2 weeks ago, hoping it's not gone forever or I'll cry!!!

Utterlypeanuterly · 07/05/2023 22:31

I checked Amazon. They don't have my shade although they have others. I hope you find yours.
I'm very disappointed that it's discontinued. I had bought a couple of bottles initially because I like it so much and because it lasts ages I wasn't even aware they were discontinuing it in time to buy more.

It has been discontinued. I use Lumene’s beauty serum now. It only comes in three shades but it’s buildable.

Itsjustsuchamagicaltime · 07/05/2023 22:37

So annoying it's been discontinued, it's a great product!!

Utterlypeanuterly · 07/05/2023 22:37

Thanks @KnightonShiningArmour . The Lumene looks very promising. Do you find it quite similar to The Ordinary?

It feels more like a serum than a foundation but it’s nice and lightweight. Evens the skin tone nicely!

Housewife2010 · 08/05/2023 00:11

I'd recommend Glossier Skin Tint. I have Lumene too, but that is more of a radiant finish than The Ordinary and Glossier.

Bobbi Brown have a serum foundation.

TiredandLate · 08/05/2023 10:06

I use Bobbi Brown intensive serum foundation.

I keep seeing ads for the Clinique one has anyone tried it?

FreshFaceTime · 30/09/2023 14:22

Did you try this one? Have just discovered the Ordinary serum foundation has gone 😭 and I've tried the L'Oreal one but don't like it as much, it's more like a tinted moisturiser ☹️ I liked the Ordinary one more than my Armani luminous silk and at a fraction of the cost it was perfect. I had a couple of bottles so didn't realise it had been discontinued or I'd have stocked up! I've got Erborian CC creme for everyday but need something with a bit more oomph from time to time. Sad times indeed.

PerpetualStudent · 30/09/2023 15:50

typology tinted serum - more spendy than the ordinary and maybe slightly less coverage but very eco credentials and sits really nicely on the skin

Utterlypeanuterly · 30/09/2023 16:13

I have a sample of the Clarins Oleo Serum to try this weekend. I'll report back on what I think of it.

Both of these are great, the L'Oréal is the most similar to the ordinary one. The Maybelline is a bit more of a radiant finish compared to the L'Oréal's more natural one but both really lightweight, nice coverage, and easy to apply

I use the L'Oreal one but it's definitely not as good. Feels more like a tinted moisturiser to me. The Ordinary one was a bit like my Armani foundation but I had a better colour match and it was obviously LOADS cheaper. Just never found anything else like it. I don't mind a tinted moisturiser and love the Erborian CC creme but it's more of a no-make-up look and...urgh gonna miss that little pot of wonder so much!

OP I have some 2N I never wear. Want it?

justanothernamechangemonday · 01/10/2023 08:22

Thanks so much for the offer. I've actually got some of that shade left but it's too dark. My colour match was 1.2N, bloody loved it. Can't find that shade on Amazon either ☹️

Haha sorry just realised you were replying to the OP 🤣

RachRVX · 26/01/2024 23:35

Hi @BeverlyBrook
Do you still have your 2N? If so, I’ll happily buy it from you.
Thanks x

BeverlyBrook · 27/01/2024 09:42

Yes I do!

mrskimsneakattack · 27/01/2024 09:47

I don't think it's a serum foundation, but I was a big fan of the Ordinary serum one and am now back using Bourjois healthy mix I was thrilled when I saw Superdrug have started stocking it again. It's quite similar in texture / weight and coverage in my opinion.
