hi,

I am looking to get this dress (https://www.nookie.com.au/mobile/shop/products/elsa-gown-/black) but it has a huge slit up the leg that i would like to somehow close? or make a little more modest?
Any ideas?

I don't think it would look great, but you can take it to a seamstress and they'd sort it easy enough

Tbh looking at the bottom of the dress think it tapers in, so if you were to make the seam shorter you wouldn’t able to walk easily!

An alternative would be to add in fabric to the gap, like a godet, it would need someone skilled to make it look good! Choice of fabric would be important too

You need to insert a wedge shaped piece of fabric

I'd look for some thing jewelled so it looks intentional and add a bit of it elsewhere to tie it in (upperarm band or trim round the neck)

Perhaps buy it in a bigger size and get it altered if you really love it

They are the wrong colour but you can see how it would work

It's a stunning dress! Have you tried it on to see how it looks on you and where the slit is? Looks perfectly modest on the model.

Take the slot to just the top of your knee so you can bend it still.

Anything else will ruin the impact and the clean lines.
