Cold spring - what to wear casually?

I seem to have no casual clothes.

What am I meant to be wearing inside in cold spring weather? I’d like to avoid woolly jumpers. Is there anything other than a sweatshirt? I don’t want to look like I’m going to work, but equally if I have people coming round, I don’t want to look like I haven’t bothered. I can’t remember what I normally wear now.

I should add, I have jeans or cords for my bottom half, it’s the top I’m stuck on.

Linen long sleeve t-shirts, light weight jumpers

I'm so frustrated with this crap spring I've given up. I refuse to buy any cold weather clothes in May, and I'm sick of all the clothes I've been wearing since October.

Fuck it. I'm on style strike. See you when it gets sunny 😎

Layers. It's always been layers.

I have been wearing jeans, a slim fit black T-shirt (tucked in) and a chunky cropped cardigan (I have a red one, a pink one and a sky blue one) that I can take off if I get too hot. With the cardigan I’ve started trying to do the button trick that was doing the rounds on social media, to make it look a bit more interesting.

Oh yeah I did used to have a cotton cream and turquoise jumper. That was handy.

Maybe I need a less workwear cardigan.

I wear long sleeved cotton T-shirts of various thicknesses most of the year…
in summer (so June/July UK and abroad) I do have some short sleeved ones or if heatwave linen dresses.

if weather a bit colder put vest top under, if freezing add a jumper/cardigan or replace T shirt with jumper.

What about a shirt (denim/ flannel) with a vest top underneath and then open the shirt when it gets warmer

Christmascracker0 · 07/05/2023 13:57

A casual chunky but not too chunky cardi with a vest top underneath is a good option. Or a lightweight jumper.

Sunnydays0101 · 07/05/2023 14:09

Cotton shirts, cotton or linen jumpers, blouses - there’s lots of options. Wear with blazers/jackets. Long dresses. I’ve ditched socks and tights and put away boots and heavier shoes. Sandals not out yet but wearing trainers, loafers, etc.

I've been wearing long sleeve t-shirts

LolaSmiles · 07/05/2023 16:54

I like layering a flannel shirt or cashmere mix cardigan over my spring outfits.
