Does anyone like this style and would like to share outfit choices here?

This is a timely thread for me. I picked up a navy and white jumpsuit at a car boot sale last weekend for £2. Make was The Seamstress of Bloomsbury who I had never heard of. It's lovely on, so have fallen down a rabbit hole of searching for similar on Vinted.

We are also hoping to attend the 80th year anniversary of D Day in Normandy next year, and there's lots of dressing up in 40s clothes there so was wanting to stock up in readiness. Some great suggestions on here so thanks 😊

I’ve been on holiday in Italy recently so been looking at their vintage shops. Didn’t end up buying anything (I’m trying to be good…) but some beautiful handbags to be had. Interesting split of prices too, either shops selling everything for 10 euros or shops where you can add a couple of 00s on to that. Not much mid-range. Some beautiful cuts and colours though.

I'm delighted that I've now got three of the House of Foxy swing trousers now! I've got navy, rust and thanks to Vinted, now got the dark green!

Was also gifted this polka dot blouse for my birthday 😊Just need some places to go to where them 😂

@PumpkinSpicedTea Not yet it's on Thursday :) It is not hot enough to wear the crop top though 😂 At least I can still wear the skirt 😅

I've never worn this style - far too big for genuine vintage - but my style icon is Helen from All Creatures Great and Small! Even (especially) in her farming scruffs!

I’ve just made my first ever vintage purchase. A pair of bottle green, 70s does 40s heels. Absolutely no idea what I’m going to wear them with but when I saw them I just had to have them!

@Greeksummer - I love those! Think I’d go with cropped high waisted frayed jeans and a simple t-shirt (maybe with a cabaret style kimono on top) for day. Then a velvet jumpsuit for the Christmas party season.

Sorry I’ve had a super busy few weeks. They arrived and they’re so stunning! I’m not a velvet jumpsuit girl really but the jeans and kimono outfit sounds perfect @Salacia

Ooh no but I have bought a black wool beret from the Seamstress of Bloomsbury website! Would love to see some festive finds.

Funny you should say that - I’ve started wearing berets this year, although mine aren’t very vintage in colour (hot pink, turquoise etc). I love the berets here but can’t justify buying one - might be tempted by their sun hats next year though!

Nothing true vintage as I’m pregnant! Did look at some 60/70s maternity wear but couldn’t justify the cost for what is ultimately a niche purchase…plus it was much more expensive than I thought it would be.

I already had it in navy jersey and figured it was bump appropriate and I could keep wearing it afterwards. Already had an outing to afternoon tea with a 1940s style hairpin and brogues.

I bought this 1950s bag last weekend.

Rather than always having to wear it with vintage outfits I wondered what anyone would recommend I wear it with?

Love the handbag, if going the non vintage route I’d probably wear it with jeans (probably cropped frayed ones, nothing too dressy) and a simple sun top (maybe navy linen - can’t quite tell the colour in the picture, if it’s black then switch to black/white top) potentially with a colourful silk scarf added to the bag and clog sandals. Although if the weather near me is anything like the weather near you at the moment you might need to wait a while for anything summery!

I like the more masculine style of 30s clothes, although I do like a nice tweed skirt. I think of my fashion vibe as Muss Marple crossed with a 1930s Bohemian lesbian.
