Sezane Purchase Help

I want to buy a Chlo shirt and a Gaspard cardigan.

If I'm a UK 10 in most blouses/shirts, I'm wondering if I should go for a 12 in the Chlo bearing in mind they are French, and .I think my upper arms are quite chunky for my size and it says if you are between sizes to go up?...but the sleeves look quite voluminous!

I wonder if I'd be better off buying a 10 and a 12 to compare, and sending one back but I seem to remember talk on this board of returns being a nightmare post brexit. Is that still the case or is it sorted? Do they refund or only give you a credit note as if I bought two I'd definitely want the refund for the other one, as I don't know when I'd purchase again. Ta.

I buy from sezane, rivecour all french, just be aware of the taxes, not all companies pay for them.
bought a pair of boots from rivecour last year worth over £200 and i then had a letter from uk courier to pay £40 in order for my parcel to be delivered in the UK.

I find sezane sizing to be pretty spot on. I don’t have a chlo but gaspard comes up big (advice on site is to size down if between) I’d stick to the 10

RockaLock · 06/05/2023 19:38

I have no advice on sizing, I'm afraid, but do you live anywhere near London? They have a shop in Notting Hill, so if you could get there you could try stuff on. You can also return stuff to the shop, I think, if you order online.

RelentlessForwardProgress · 06/05/2023 19:39

thanks @Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday ,
have you had issues with taxes as @Haveallthesongsbeenwritten mentioned or is it OK ?

(@RockaLock unfortunately I'm a looong way from civilization out here in the sticks!)

It seems there is no additional fees or taxes… have a look on their website for confirmation though

It's free postage and returns if you spend £200 (not hard!)

I'm an 8-10 and have the XS in the Gaspard. It's boxy. My sis recommends sizing up for cotton Chlo shirts. I can't comment on the silk version.

Tiddlywinkly · 06/05/2023 20:14

Just to say, I'm an S in all other Sezane knitwear.

I've just bought a Chlo shirt direct from Sezane, my first ever order. I ordered both a 10 and a 12 and returned the 12 to a UK returns address. It was no problem at all and they refunded in a few days. I did have to email for a Royal Mail returns label as the one enclosed with the parcel wasn't recognised by the Post Office scanner (think it was a French one) when I went to post it. But Sezane replied almost immediately and it was a completely smooth process after that.
Shirt is fab by the way!

RelentlessForwardProgress · 06/05/2023 21:14

That's brilliant @RemoveHeaddress , thanks for the info
I think I'll also order a 10 and 12
Glad the shirt is nice in real life 🙂

Glad it was helpful Relentless. It was a bit of a splurge for me, and I was a bit nervous about the whole ordering from abroad thing, but it was worth it. The fabric quality and cut are gorgeous. I would definitely buy from them again. Good luck with your order!

Hikingfan · 07/05/2023 09:40

I got my first order yesterday and I was so disappointed. I'm a UK 12 to 14, 10-12 on top but definitely 12-14 on the bottom. I bought three tops in a 38, I measured myself and followed the size chart. I also looked at the sizing info on each item. I tried them on and they're all far too big. My Tomboy shirt is great quality and I'll reorder it in a size down, a 36 should be good. The Lisa blouse is meant to be boxy but it's huge, I'm not risking a reorder. The Kelia top is so beautiful but also 1-2 sizes too big and it's now all sold out.

Vivfor60 · 07/05/2023 09:52

Yes, Sezane tops do seem to come up big. I am a 10/12 with biggish boobs. Always take a S or 10. Their bottoms seem to come up smaller though, that may just be on me though!

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 07/05/2023 11:53

No issues on taxes at all, my only gripe with them is I like everything and my bank would v much like me to stop ‘browsing and I find deliveries slow, too used to super fast elsewhere

FreakOutFarOut · 07/05/2023 12:11

I have the Gaspard in small (as a size 10), it is lovely and naturally boxy, so you could size down depending on preference.
