I keep seeing these coats and wondered if anyone has bought from them? I've always wanted a coat cut like them, but they're expensive so don't want something rubbish!

Assuming this isn't spam, then Fakespot have highlighted issues with the website.... A bit 'rockabilly' for me, style wise.

ItsCalledAConversation · 06/05/2023 17:19

Not for me at all, overly girly, I don’t like that style at all.

I’ve got an Ilse Jakobsen raincoat, it’s very good indeed but if you like this style you probably wouldn’t like it. I also had a very good one from Lululemon some while back.

Not spam - but thanks for the heads up. I'm never sure about purchasing from places I've seen advertised on social media.

I'll check those out - thanks. I like the full skirt look, but it's difficult to find.

I really like mine! Really well made, great shape for me. They’re a legitimate brand, I haven’t ordered from their website but you can get them from Wolf and Badger.

Salacia · 07/05/2023 11:54

Just realised I must have had mine for getting on for two years and worn it frequently (I walk to work) and it still looks as good as new. It also doesn’t have that plasticky raincoat feel that I find uncomfortable/irritating. Got mine from here OP. Promise I don’t work for them, I just really like my coat!

Thanks for this recommendation, I like that style, I might get the bright red one or the dark green one, probably the latter.

VenusClapTrap · 07/05/2023 13:06

I love mine. It’s excellent quality and properly waterproof. Whenever I wear it I get compliments from randomers in the street.

Thank you - I see stuff advertises on Wolf and Badger all the time too - nice to know they're a genuine company too!! I think you might have convinced me.... 🙌🏻

Wolf and Badger have a shop near Kings Cross if you’re ever in London. Nice place for a browse!

WhatTheCup · 13/05/2023 18:36

I've just bought matching ones for me and my DD10 (I know, I'm a bit twee). It was cheaper to pay by debit card than PayPal because you are charged in Euros and PayPal have about a £20 fee for the currency conversion, which my debit card didn't have. We got a 10% discount by going through the Mommy and Me bit of their website, my DD is too tall for the kids sizes (9-10 seem to be their biggest), so I bought her an XS petite. Also (I did a lot of research because of how crazy expensive they are), it is far cheaper to go direct through their website than through Wolf and Badger.

Spaghettio · 14/05/2023 10:56

Thanks @WhatTheCup - I'm mostly decided I'll get one, it's just a matter of waiting until my bonus comes in now! 😊

In case anyone is interested, my coats arrived. One for me and one for DD. I'm 5'4 and just over 8 stone and the small coat was enormous on me; the arms were too long and the waist was huge. I measured myself before buying it and it said that it was the coat for me. I tried on my DD's XS petite one and that fitted perfectly. I guess the coats are bigger to leave space for lots of layers underneath, but wearing a massive coat isn't a very flattering look.

The biggest kids size is 9-10, which should be too small for my 10 year old, but I looked at the waist size and it's the same as for the XS one (which was huge on her).

That said, the coat is beautiful and I have had loads of compliments on it. People don't usually compliment me on my coat,s but it really is beautiful. If you're thinking of ordering, you might want to get a size smaller than they recommend.

VenusClapTrap · 25/05/2023 20:50

That’s really interesting @WhatTheCup. When I bought mine two or three years ago, I had to send it back and exchange for a size bigger than I am normally, because it was too snug. I wonder if they’ve changed the sizing recently.

Loonybillyboo · 29/09/2023 07:28

Hi, I’ve been looking at these coats, they are beautiful! Which colour did you buy, and how warm/waterproof are they please?
I’ve got my eye on the black with strawberries on the flare xx

minipie · 29/09/2023 07:35

I think these are gorgeous and the fit and flare shape would suit me … but I live in jeans in cooler weather and I sadly don’t think the coat would look right with jeans. Or even with long skirts.

Loonybillyboo · 29/09/2023 10:41

Hi, I’m planning on wearing mine with leggings and boots. Wonder if there is discount post Christmas 🤔🤞

ISeeTheLight · 29/09/2023 10:51

I've been lusting after these but yes they're not cheap and it's really hard to figure out what size you need! I heard they're quite long (which works for me; I'm 5'9).
They did a Black Friday offer last year on their own website; I might get one this year.

The sizing seems completely arbitrary. According to the website, the XS petite and the kids 9-10 had the same waist size, but when I ordered both, the kids one was far, far smaller. There was at least 10cm difference in waist size. The coats are beautiful, but sending then to and from Latvia was a massive pain, I gave up in the end trying to get one for my daughter, because the sizes were so random and I was always worried that the coats would get lost in the post every time I had to send them back (they never did, but I found it really stressful).

It's such a shame, as it's a really lovely coat.

RudsyFarmer · 25/10/2023 22:39

These look so beautiful but I’d have to try on before spending that kind of money!!!

That’s why I got mine via a UK retailer (Wolf and Badger as mentioned upthread) - free returns etc. Not sure if they have the children’s coats on there though.

lenalemonade · 02/12/2023 04:56

I have got two of these .The red one is a bit too big on me now but it's beautiful and have had loads of compliments .
Really well made .
I got the black one with the strawberries a couple of weeks ago for a bargain price in the sale .
Customer service is great ❤️

ISeeTheLight · 04/12/2023 12:31

I finally ordered one from their website in the BF sale and it arrived last week - the navy blue with the pink flowers. Wow it's stunning, really gorgeous. It's very much a rain coat and not a winter coat though so it'll be some months before I can wear it. The fit is great though, true to size and long enough (I'm 5'9 - I ordered the standard fit/length).
