Face oil recommendations

I’m looking to try a new face oil as I’m running low on the three I’m currently cycling between.
I’m currently using and like:
•Decleor Neroli - used for years
•Wild Source Miracle Oil - first bottle from Liberty advent
•DISCIPLE Skincare Good Skin Face Oil - second bottle. Not quite as hydrating as the ones above.

What should I try next? I like a really nourishing oil that will hydrate for hours. Sometimes I even put body balm on my face because I love it to look and feel really, well, oily 😂

I really like Aurelia night oil smells divine and hydration is great.

If you want a hydrating facial oil then you're looking at avocado, argan etc as a main ingredient.

Neal's Yard Frankincense is very good, as is their Rose.

One of the best I've ever tried though (and repurchased) was Body Shop Oils of Life, which iirc was camellia oil based.

Not impressed with either Decleor or Clarins facial oils tbh. Style over substance in both cases.

I'd recommend MooGoo's Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Vitamin C) in Squalane (25% w/v). It's a no-nonsense serum (no amazing scent here) but it has given my skin a glow that it hasn't had for a long time.

I prefer to use this at night but if you love the oily look, it might be one for the daytime too.

I love the Clarins Blue Lotus oil.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/05/2023 06:46

Votary Super Seed facial oil is nice.

D20 · 05/05/2023 06:47

Love Decleor myself. For oil hydration that soaks in a simple jojoba oil is lovely and gives the skin a glow from within. If you want to feel oil on your face I got the Argentum
one cheap (RRP £124) and I don’t think it’s half as good as jojoba.

Herbivore blue lapis is beautiful too and Liberty used to stock it but I can’t see it at the minute.

I love the Clarins Blue Lotus oil.

Second this.

BronnauMawrion · 05/05/2023 07:15

I love Elemis pro-collagen marine oil for day and Neom perfect night sleep at, well, night.

Itsjustsuchamagicaltime · 05/05/2023 07:16

I love the Ordinary rosehip
Oil. Really hydrating!

Stillwearingskinnies · 05/05/2023 09:38

I also love the Elemis pro-collagen marine oil

H3lloMums · 05/05/2023 12:28

Votary glow drops are really nice and smell lovely, absorb quickly and feels nourishing. I tend to just the oil alone at bedtime. Do you use an oil and moisturiser together? I think the oil is enough...

SocksAndTheCity · 05/05/2023 12:33

I like the Biossance squalane and vitamin C rose oil, but that might not be heavy enough for you.

I do remember really liking the Augustinus Bader face oil too having had samples a couple of times, and that's very rich and hydrating but the price is nuts.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 05/05/2023 14:46

I love the Superstar night oil from Pestle & Mortar https://pestleandmortar.com/product/superstar-retinoid-night-oil-30ml/

countdowntonap · 05/05/2023 16:51

@H3lloMums yes I use oil and moisturiser- and serum! My skin can take so much and looks better the more it has. Gets quite costly though!

Thank you everyone. I’ll start to read up on all recommendations.

I guess I thought the oil would react with a serum? Sometimes double up oil and moisturiser but dont think I'd want to do every night.

jotunn · 05/05/2023 17:33

My skin sounds similar! I use the ordinary Rosehip oil plus moisturiser when I'm short of cash and Sunday Riley Juno oil when I'm a bit more flush.

APurpleSquirrel · 05/05/2023 17:37

Sukin Rosehip Oil is very good.

mischlerischler · 05/05/2023 17:39

Farmacy honey grail!

So hydrating, but not too oily.

I use Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse dry oil (the original version) every night over serum and night cream. Smells lovely and never makes me break out. They do a floral scent one too that is really nice and I’ve seen on offer at the min. Hopefully this will work!

I've been using this too as it came in an M&S advent calendar iirc.

tobee · 05/05/2023 17:56

Sorry meant to say it seemed good so far. I use in between serum and moisturiser, although I'm experimenting.

Kyse · 05/05/2023 18:16

This, it smells amazing too and is a proper oil

Didn't link properly, it's the organic skin oil
