Scaly Lizard Legs

Please can anyone recommend a good body moisturiser?
My legs look like a komodo dragon.
I have been using Palmers Cocoa Butter which I like but it takes so long so soak in, I feel sticky for ages after.
I'd like something that soaks in fast but is very nourishing.
I also have some movement difficulties in my hands so struggle to squeeze hard bottles, the Palmers is in a tub which is manageable.
Ideally not too expensive!
Any suggestions?

Have you tried diprobase?

ghislaine · 04/05/2023 23:17

Regular dry body brushing would help too.

Get yourself an exfoliation glove and use every day in the shower. Any-old moisturiser afterwards.

Magic. I promise!

Agreed.

I bought the Brazilian Bum Bum cream off the back of another thread and I love it. It's expensive though.

Cetraben is an amazing moisturiser

I can second pp’s recommendation for Ameliorate. If you get the large bottle it is pump action so no squeezing required. Can be expensive full price but there are always offers on somewhere if ordering online and it lasts for ages. I had never had smooth skin on my legs before using this- it’s amazing stuff!

I agree - exfoliation is the key! A good, weekly exfoliate and then use up any moisturiser you've already got. You'll soon be as smooth as silk!

Be careful urea cream basically removes thins your skin so it looks good short term but may not with excessive use.

Aveeno Dermexa works on my scaly legs

Sorry I completely forgot I posted this!
Thank you so much for all the suggestions.
I should have said, I have an exfoliating mitt I sometimes use, a exfoliating scrub (natural hard bits) I sometimes use, and a dry body brush I never use!
Maybe I should commit to those and then they'll actually have an effect!
The Italy towel sounds interesting.
Thanks for suggesting ones with pumps etc, I appreciate people taking the time.
I will see if Look Fantastic or somewhere has some bank holiday offers and treat myself to something.
Thanks again, here's to unscaly legs!

I'm currently in Spain and it's very much beach/pool weather (so I've been in the sun every day for the last 2 weeks, using factor 50/30, but still 'caught the sun' at the beginning ahem), bought a basic (cheap) aloe vera body cream from the local supermarket to moisturise at the end of the day (they didn't have any aftersun that didn't a) cost mega-bucks, or b) smell rank) - total game changer! First time ever (and I've lived on the mediterranean coast for 20+ years) that there has not even been a hint of dry skin (or the dreaded peeling) on my face or body (despite winter lizard legs)! It also seems to have stopped mosquitos dead in their tracks, added bonus 😄

Cleethorpes · 07/05/2023 19:16

E45 shower cream and Cerave moisturiser completely sorted my lizard legs. Fabulous stuff and cheap as chips.

Rainbowshit · 07/05/2023 19:18

Korean Italy towels are amazing. So much better than any scrubs or exfoliating mitts.

hoven · 07/05/2023 19:23

I have a condition causing this. You need a cream containing urea. I use either Garnier hyrdo lock from Amazon or eucerin with urea from boots

Mytholmroyd · 10/05/2023 18:14

I mostly use oils now except for a urea foot cream. Argan oil (or a good mix) is good for dry legs - sinks in quickly.

MoggyMittens23 · 11/05/2023 13:34

Get out of the shower, and rub johnsons baby oil in while still wait. Stand there for a minute or two. Then dry as usual with towel. It worksa a treat
