Work shoes for summer

Hi all, bit of a niche request but I’m in dire need of some S&B help please!

I work in a job where I have to dress smartly, one step short of a full suit but definitely business dress. I’ve been happily clomping about in some chunky loafers all winter but my thoughts are turning to summer dresses and they look a bit heavy with some of the ones I’ve got, definitely not right with a bare leg. Any suggestions?

Requirements are:

  • need to be easy to get on and off, no buckles etc as I visit people in their homes and always offer to take my shoes off. Faffing with shoes at the end of the appointment is not my idea of fun.
  • not open toe anything or sandals, as I’m taking shoes off in houses I need to be able to wear pop socks or nude tights with them
  • flat. Just can’t be doing with heels anymore!

Any help gratefully received!

What about light coloured loafer? Doesnt need to be chunky. Or mary janes, or ballet flats.

A light coloured loafer is a very obvious choice that I had completely missed! Thank you that’s a great idea Smile

I was coming on to say I have some white leather loafers with a bit of gold hardware for this. Also some chunkier tan ones. I love my loafers

Ballet flats are back this year.
Penny loafers. Marks and Spencer usually have nice ones that are comfy.
