Stylish but comfy work shoes

I'm starting a new job soon and to avoid the tube, I plan on walking part of the commute. Assuming I don't cave in, I'll be walking about 4 miles a day. I know I could wear trainers and change at work, but I'd really like the option of nice work shoes that I can walk in.
I've got a pair of flat Mary-Janes from Clark's but they look like school shoes, so I want something more stylish. I mostly wear dresses (and tights) rather than trousers.
I can't find anything that fits the bill! Any ideas gratefully received!

Wear trainers. If you find comfortable work shoes, you'll wear them out quickly if walking 4 miles a day, 5 days a week.

Grenson is worth a look; they have several comfortable looking styles.

But it would be a waste to spend much on ‘smart’ shoes for a regular 4 mile walk, they’d start to look old quite quickly. You really would need separate ‘walking’ and ‘work’ shoes.

Some of those are lovely. But yes, at that price I'd want to keep them pristine.

As I feared. It'll be three days a week but point still stands.

Wear trainers. I walked similar pre wfh. Anytime I tried wearing shoes, the heels wore down very quickly. Add in weather issues and my shoes quickly got trashed. I am heavy on my feet and that was 5 days a week, wearing different shoes but I reckon even 3 days a week would wear out your shoes quickly.

I think trainers too. Leave the nice shoes at work.
