Eggy wool jumpers

I have been washing my wool jumpers, some for years. On the cool wool setting on my washing machine using ecover 0% and then drying them outside. Sometimes there is a slight sulfur smell but this goes quickly once dried outside. Last week I did a load and they absolutely reeked, a couple worse than others.

What is going on?? I have tried cleaning the washing machine with the
dettol washing machine cleaner and I've put them through twice new adding the dettol antibacterial additive to the wash too, tna. They still reek! Am I just going to have to bin them??

No new wool jumpers added to this wash but I did wash a new bright pink one on its own before the big load (not directly before) and it stank too??

Does your water smell of eggs? Like for other washing or just the wool.

What type of detergent are you using? I found the pods don't disintegrate properly on a cool wool wash so I don't know how well they were cleaning.
