Beach bag

sunnydayys · 30/04/2023 22:03

Looking for a new beach bag...big enough for a couple of towels, sun cream, the usual shit you have to carry around with 2 small kids.
Happy to spend a decent annoying but no point spending too much as it's a beach bag after all!
Any ideas?

Ive got one of these, it is mahoosive!

Mango have some raffia beach bags for less than £40. Alternatively you could buy a Longchamp le Plaige bag which are a little pricey however they are versatile in terms of the fact that you could use them on the beach and beyond. The fact that they fold away is also a bonus.

Ooh I really like that, definitely a strong contender!

Noooo, everyone knows THE beach back is one of those giant blue Ikea bags Grin

Following this one - thank you OP. I've been looking for ages and can't find what I want. Foldable flattish for travel. Wipeable/waterproof so not raffia/cotton or with a rope handle that then gets filthy and make the whole thing need replacing in a year or two.
And with an zip at the too so I can't loose things. I had a Bulaggi one which I bought last minute years ago and was horrified at the price but it literally did me 16 years until the zip broke apart 2 years ago. I just can't find one that is as good.

I’ve recently bought one from Dock and Bay which I’m really happy with. It holds loads, folds down to next to nothing, and is made from recycled plastic. Washable too, I have no connection with the company, I just discovered them and like their products and ethos.

Niftythrifter · 30/04/2023 23:24

@mephi Than the le pliage would be suitable!

Yoloohno · 30/04/2023 23:40

I’m not affiliated to Mia TUI but I have a Falmouth beach bag that like my love for their other bags is hard working and is seriously practical.

IloveJudgeJudy · 01/05/2023 00:13

I also have a mia TUI Falmouth beach bag that I’ve had for about 6 years. It’s so useful. I highly recommend it. It zips up, is definitely shower if not rainproof, has very useful pockets and is a good size. You can also use it as your carry on for the plane as it’s got a suitcase handle that’s also a mini pocket. I could go on…

I saw some nice (and reasonably priced) ones in matalan.

Two Queen Bees is a game changer! I have their 2-in1 bag. It's a massive beach bag that folds into a smaller zip up bag. The beach bag is waterproof lined. You just unclip the strap to move from one bag to the other. I love mine!

That looks fab! Thanks

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/05/2023 08:16

I really wouldn’t want to use my Longchamp one on the beach.

Cheap and cheerful is the way to go, I think.

yoshiblue · 01/05/2023 09:31

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie agree, my Le Pilage is not a beach bag!

I like the look of the Next one having a zip and being foldaway

IhearyouClemFandango · 01/05/2023 09:42

Love the salt rock one

Oh I'm going to treat myself to this! The waterproof lining is everything for me as i sea swim and have a sipping great wetsuit to carry home in the winter

I’m another one with a le Pilage as a beach bag - bought it years ago before a holiday and it’s migrated into being a summer day bag, still looks good.

ira big and roomy, folds up for travel /storage, looks normal enough to be a good day bag through the summer so it’s not something to just used for a week.

userxx · 01/05/2023 20:52

I really like this, no idea what size it is though.

Me too, currently in Spain and used mine as carry on ( under seat bag) and beach bag / shopping bag. Perfect!

Spirini · 02/05/2023 23:39

I got a version of this last year, its amazing. Also folds down.
