Nice looking practical backpack?

I'm looking for a backpack that ticks the following boxes:

  • big capacity (for all mine and the kids' stuff for a day out)
  • water bottle holders, ideally on each side
  • water resistant, and ideally a waterproof bottom bit
  • ... the big ask, remotely stylish?

Osprey 100% - they're brilliant.

Thank you both! Love the Roka ones, and Osprey - so many to choose from.

Patagonia, love mine (I have a Refugio). Not sure it meets the stylish requirement! But deep water bottle pockets, lots of space, really comfy, waterproof.

I have one of these for work in red. I got it to carry my laptop, lunch and water bottle comfortably as before I had a shoulder bag and I found it uncomfortable. But actually I also use it for family days out too.

Ikea has surprisingly stylish backpacks, and much more affordable than Roka.

Stickycurrantbun · 30/04/2023 21:48

Patagonia is another great company too.

I'd have never thought of IKEA for backpacks! Unfortunately I need it in the next two weeks though.

Passenger have some good options

Panpig · 30/04/2023 21:56

I'm in my 30s and am still using a jansport backpack that was my school bag at secondary school. It's indestructible. Maybe not the height of style but they're certainly well made, if that's a consideration of yours

Mia Tui Sydney rucksack. I can see the link, sorry if it didn't post. It's not the most stylish I've ever seen but it's approachable priced, lots of pockets on the inside, two water bottle pouches each side, and most importantly it is comfy!

Yoloohno · 30/04/2023 22:48

My Sydney is my work bag it’s hard wearing and practical and has been used for nearly 2 years and still looks good.

i agree with the previous poster they are practical and comfy and often have offers that mean you get a free bag.

Thank you all. I've been browsing for the last hour... now in a backpack rabbit hole!
