sunscreen for the face

Can anyone recommend a good sunscreen for the face and neck that I can wear under make up?
I’ve tried various, I’m currently using Clarins but it is turning my clothes yellow!
I need a high factor 40 or 50 as I get bad pigmentation.
The best I ever had was a serum screen from Benefit called something like “SunScream”. Unfortunately it’s been discontinued.

I have just started using Nivea Luminous 630 serum it’s got spf 50 in and is for dark spots and anti-pigmentation which I suffer with. It goes on nicely and has a nice scent to it. On offer in Boots at the moment.

I use this which is brilliant. It's goes a long way and sinks in easily and is nice and light. I also have pigmentation and I was recommended this by a beautician. skinbiotics.co.uk/products/sun-defence-spf-50

I favour La Roche Posay, although I like the tinted ones, even so no staining or nasty smell and the tint hides existing sun damage.

Clinique City Block is the absolute BEST :)

I like Revolution sun shimmer spf50

Used this for years now. Absorbs easily - never burnt.

I have combination skin and use Beauty of Joseon spf - love that it just feels like moisturiser rather than a sunscreen.

I think I'll try a mineral spf next though. This one from Hero Cosmetics is on my list

Niftythrifter · 22/05/2023 21:27

I have the Garnier one. The one I use at the moment is the cream but they also do a LRP like one. Both good imo.

Starlightstarbright1 · 22/05/2023 21:29

Renew from Boots is factor 50. I put it on as a base layer under my make up .

feels thick but rubs in really well

Battlecat98 · 22/05/2023 21:29

Loreal revitalift clinical anti-UV fluid factor 50. I have oily skin and this feels amazing on me. No yellowing on clothes or white cast.

LubaLuca · 22/05/2023 21:29

Yes, this one for me too. It gives a good, smooth base for makeup and doesn't aggravate my eyes like lots of spf facial products do.

astridforty · 22/05/2023 21:33

Skin&Me have just added a sunscreen to their subscription options, free trial. You have to be quite liberal but it wears well under makeup and doesn’t pill.

Ive a referral code if anyone wants it.

Philomenacunk1 · 22/05/2023 21:36

Another vote for la Rochey Posey for me. It’s invisible but gives great coverage

chalkyc2 · 22/05/2023 21:43

Question though - do people use the sun screen alongside regular moisturiser? And which do you use first?!?

I'm currently using a moisturiser which (supposedly) has an spf 30 already but want extra cover for long days whilst watching my kids play cricket. I have some ultra sun face 50spf but I'm confused whether to use before or after moisturiser!! And then foundation on top (which also claims to have an spf?)??

Frosty1000 · 22/05/2023 21:52

I use supergoop glow or Bondi sands. Prefer the first one as I don't wear much facial makeup during summer so it makes me look more glowy and illuminated.

snowlady4 · 22/05/2023 21:55

I use the soltan 'for the face,' when I want some extra spf.

stardust777 · 22/05/2023 21:58

@chalkyc2 I use Byoma gel moisturiser first and then the Beauty of Joseon spf

Colinorpercy · 22/05/2023 22:05

I have oily skin and got on well with the La Roche Possay one but, like a previous poster, I was confused as to what to do about moisturiser. I felt using both was too much for my skin. So I’ve now switched to the Body Shop light Skin Essence as it does both. It feels quite creamy when you put it on but sinks in really well.
