What SPF 50 product do you use on your face?

I have hyperpigmentation and issues with dry ageing skin and finding the right foundation for my skin.
In experimenting with this I am wondering if I am using the wrong brand of sunscreen and that might be causing the problem.
At the moment I just use Ambre Solaire factor 50. What sunscreen do you use on your face under make up?
Thanks.

Nutrogena have a good 50 SPF that sits well under make up.

I also like La Roche posey sunscreens but don't have it on me so I can't tell you if they are 50+

SkyandSurf · 25/04/2023 14:45

Are you using a primer as well?

Also important to let your skin care (including SPF) sit for a little while and absorb before applying makeup

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 25/04/2023 14:56

The Garnier Ambre Solaire spf50 for the face one.

WrinklesShminkles · 25/04/2023 15:03

Beauty Pie SPF50 - very light but not too matte. I just bought Biore Water Essence from Superdrug which feels even lighter but more matte - am going to save it for summer.

Heliocare is excellent and was recommended to me by an aesthetician

saltwater1985 · 25/04/2023 15:18

La Roche Posay or CeraVe both from Boots

HanSB · 25/04/2023 15:18

La Roche Posay does a SPF50 face fluid that's very good

MuddledMindy · 25/04/2023 15:19

Heliocare. They do a special one for pigmentation as well.

newtowelsplease · 25/04/2023 15:20

I like the eucerin one. It feels like a normal moisturiser and not thick or shiny on the skin

Violasaremyfavourite · 25/04/2023 15:27

Nivea 50+ Shine Control.

I like La Roche Posay as well but it's twice the price of the Nivea.
They both seem to stand up well to UV in a country with some of the world's high UV levels.

Irridescantshimmmer · 25/04/2023 15:49

I use this one!

It has been the best I've ever used on my face so far and very similar to a tinted moisturiser. As my face is very pale, however the smell of it is revolting......I use it because I burn indoors in summer because I'm very light skinned.

LadyLapsang · 25/04/2023 15:51

La Roche Posay, Lancaster, Natura Bisse if in a beauty box, otherwise too expensive. I bought an SPF box from Space NK recently and that also contains Dr Dennis Gross which I have used before and Institut Esthederm.

LadyLapsang · 25/04/2023 15:53

Are you moisturising before you apply your SPF?

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 25/04/2023 15:54

Altruist face fluid. Decent price, dermatologist developed and feels really light

ferneytorro · 25/04/2023 15:54

La Roche Posay because it doesn’t seem to make me sweat or bobble underneath Make-up however it’s expensive and also doesn’t have the star rating so I’m a bit bothered about that. What would it be the equivalent of star wise? It is three for two in boots.

Happygirl79 · 25/04/2023 15:59

I use nivea. I too have hyperpigmentation and this really helps reduce the marks. Factor 50. No white cast. Absorbs quickly. About £10 from Boots.

What SPF 50 product do you use on your face?
StEtienne93 · 25/04/2023 16:20

Nivea Face Sensitive SPF50

mischlerischler · 25/04/2023 16:24

La Roche Posay and Bioderma both have good spf 50 options - for both dry & sensitive skin.

Biore is also good and cheaper, I get it from Amazon. But I find it a bit more drying.

Skinceuticals have great mineral one (tinted), but it's expensive.

cptartapp · 25/04/2023 16:44

Have always bought Biore Watery Essence online. Great it's now available in Superdrug.

This is the best and I love it too! Goes on like a serum and disappears no residue

SpookySpoon22 · 25/04/2023 16:51

I heard you should use a mineral sunscreen for hyperpigmentation and melasma (usual sunscreens contain chemicals that can worsen brown patches) but I've struggled to find one that isn't too thick to apply beneath make up that isn't really expensive.

MarpleFan · 25/04/2023 16:52

I use the Vichy Capital Soleil spf 50 under my make up, but also always have the spray on stuff from Ambre Solaire on very sunny days, to top up.

LadyEloise1 · 25/04/2023 16:53

I have just started using the Nivea Cellular Luminous Anti Dark Spot Fluid SP50

Too early for me to comment.

It was either the above or the CeraVe moisturiser with SPF50 which I intend to try also.
