Opinions on these wedding heels?

My partner has brought me these heels for our wedding - theyve been my dream heels for ages.. but now I have them and I’ve tried them on I’m not sure I really love them.. I mean I do.. but I also don’t. I think it’s the giant pearl on the front that’s throwing me off them.

The pro’s are - they are seriously comfy heels; they have pearls which match my wedding jewellery.

The cons are - something about them is throwing me off.. I think it’s the big pearl, or it could be the platform.

I need help, do I keep them or sell them? I also feel guilty that DP brought them knowing I wanted them but I’m just not sure I love them in person as much as I do online 😭 I don’t wanna sound like a brat 😅

Could you keep them for events other than the wedding and get something more suitable for your wedding?

I think that they would work for other occasions.

sausage767 · 27/04/2023 13:05

I love them, I think they’re beautiful. But you have to love them more than any other shoe.

bettyjane · 27/04/2023 13:09

If he bought direct from JC and they are still current style, full price on the website/in store, I would contact them (or the store he purchased from) and ask if you can return or at least exchange them if you're not sure. Even if they give you a voucher and you spend some on less expensive wedding shoes, and a second pair of fun shoes/a wedding bag. I've had plenty of shops be lenient with the exchange policy, particularly if you're exchanging.

I'd see if I could try them on with the dress or a similar dress first though before deciding.

trisfreya · 27/04/2023 13:11

they;re hideous

Toddlerteaplease · 27/04/2023 13:17

Swap them for something you can wear more than once. You need your monies worth!

souranddoughy · 27/04/2023 18:32

Cheap and tacky-looking, sorry.

Stripeyhandbag · 27/04/2023 18:59

Fuck it it you love them keep them. But I'd be tempted to get a bright colour so you can wear them after more often

Christmascracker0 · 27/04/2023 19:45

I think they are a vibe, but if you don’t LOVE them in real life, they are better off being sold on.

alltoowe · 27/04/2023 19:53

I love them!

alltoowe · 27/04/2023 19:53

What a kind man btw!

MyEyesAreBleeding · 27/04/2023 20:00

Honestly. It doesn't matter what other people think. I'm sure the majority of mumsnet wouldn't have appreciated my second hand understated dress (by choice), my leather jacket, my sparkly irregular choice shoes, cream bridesmaid dress with leather jacket and dm boots, my alternate theme (that I've never ever heard anyone else having).

Fuck it all. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks but you. I feel like you need someone to tell you they're ok like you need permission - I'm giving you permission to be your full authentic self and wear the shoes you like. To hell with what everyone else thinks. Follow your gut, wear what you want and don't apologise for it either.!

Modda · 27/04/2023 20:05

I think the Pearl looks like a weird malteser.

The heel is my issue though, was too clunky which makes them really ugly imo.

billydilly · 27/04/2023 20:12

OP, they're gorgeous. Do a thought experiment; if you sell them tomorrow how do you feel? Relieved or deflated?

But the whole point is the OP didn't love them. She wouldn't be asking if she did.

Um I think you missed the point. She doesn’t think she likes them Confused

MyEyesAreBleeding · 27/04/2023 21:02

Haven't missed the point at all. At this stage it feels like the op is trying to persuade people to like them. If she really didn't like them there would be no hesitation or showing different photos, she would have listened to the very clear majority saying that don't like them and they'd be up for sale. Instead the op posted another photo to see if that makes people like them.

We're all entitled to our own opinions and that's mine.

TheChosenTwo · 27/04/2023 21:03

Wow. They’re really awful imo!!
But he did a really kind thing buying them for you because you loved them.

hermioneee · 27/04/2023 21:08

I didn't like them in the first picture but they look gorgeous in the try on picture.

However, if you're not sure then for £1500 see if there's some others that you love more.

shitafrick · 27/04/2023 21:38

I absolutely love them! So surprised by all the hate.

Have you tried them on with your dress?

LlynTegid · 27/04/2023 22:11

We have different tastes. I would not pay £95 for them. If you keep them then plan to wear on many occasions.

Hate to break it to you but I think you'll find there's a fair proportion of married MNetters who had "alternative" wedding outfits. Mine was black velvet with red shoes.

NatashaDancing · 28/04/2023 00:03

WedTheBed · 27/04/2023 11:59

I found a picture of when I tried them on - do they look better on? I do really love the shape, and I find it easier to walk in a chunky heel and platform to be honest. But what giant pearl is wrecking it for me still I think..

Sorry but they look even worse on than in the pictures.

I'm not saying there isn't. I'm just saying the majority of mumsnet may not cater to the ops taste, and they certainly wouldn't cater to mine.

It's not about me at all. Now can you please stop picking my words apart? I'm not here for an argument.
