Opinions on these wedding heels?

My partner has brought me these heels for our wedding - theyve been my dream heels for ages.. but now I have them and I’ve tried them on I’m not sure I really love them.. I mean I do.. but I also don’t. I think it’s the giant pearl on the front that’s throwing me off them.

The pro’s are - they are seriously comfy heels; they have pearls which match my wedding jewellery.

The cons are - something about them is throwing me off.. I think it’s the big pearl, or it could be the platform.

I need help, do I keep them or sell them? I also feel guilty that DP brought them knowing I wanted them but I’m just not sure I love them in person as much as I do online 😭 I don’t wanna sound like a brat 😅

£1600 for shoes you won't see under a floor length dress?? Nah.

VerySneakySir · 25/04/2023 20:33

I don't like them...like you, I think there's something off about them. The clunkiness and then the big pearl makes them somehow look a bit childish.

Anyway, I would also sell them. Hope you get some decent money for them.

I think they are absolutely fabulous
you will look back on them and think wow DH got them for me
i think a little something different is great when being the bride you want people to remember you and you will keep them forever

MiniDinosaur · 25/04/2023 21:01

I wasn’t a fan when I saw your photo, but I absolutely love them ‘face on’ on the model, they’re a really elegant shape, and think they would look great peeping from under a very plain wedding dress as you walk.

piedbeauty · 25/04/2023 21:05

The cost! The massive pearl! The Uber chunky heel!!

It's a no from me.

cunningartificer · 25/04/2023 21:38

If my DP got me those as a surprise because he thought I'd love them and I'd yearned over them online I think I'd love them regardless. I think they'll look stunning with a plain dress and whenever you look at then you'll think how thoughtful he was. Also pictures often don't do designer shoes justice--the Harrods pictures give a better idea.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 25/04/2023 21:45

I think they’re great but I don’t think they’d work with a dress as you’ve described. A slender silhouette in a fine, silky fabric wants a more delicate shoe that’s just peaking out.

I’d also be worried about a silk fabric catching on the pearls as I walked.

MyEyesAreBleeding · 25/04/2023 21:47

You don't hope for the best with a £1600 price tag. Absolutely not. I think they're very cheap looking, sorry

They look even worse on the model.

They're very ugly. In any other colour, they'd look like something a prostitute or stripper might wear.

Do they? What else do prostitutes and strippers wear, just so's we know?.🤣

I love them, but they don't say 'bridal' somehow and I'd want to wear them with something colourful.

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 25/04/2023 22:19

I love these shoes, but prefer the non-platform version - one has a stiletto heel and the other has the same heel as the ones you've shared.

Luckingfovely · 25/04/2023 22:22

They're really tacky. Expensive tack, but still tacky.

That's not relevant though if that's your style - what's relevant is that you know it and that's why they're giving you the ick. So you have to sell and find a pair that actually go with an elegant dress!

whoshoewhatyou · 26/04/2023 15:08

These are my absolute dream wedding shoe (not that I've ever tried them in in real life because I'm not getting married or rich enough to buy them!)
But I have drooled over these since they were first released.

ElizabethBest · 26/04/2023 15:39

I hate the giant pearl. I was going to suggest seeing if you can cut it off, but at that price maybe not!!

Mirabai · 26/04/2023 15:42

Nice in theory not so much in real life.

Why wouldn’t you have returned £1500 shoes within the return window though 😱

ElizabethBest · 26/04/2023 15:42

Coast have these for £70, and they're near identical. I'd buy these and get a really amazing handbag from mulberry or something

Nowhere near identical.

DisforDarkChocolate · 26/04/2023 15:44

I agree with you. The big pearl on the front looks wrong, I think the pearls on the heels are too big too, and highly unlikely to still be in place at the end of the day.

Mirabai · 26/04/2023 15:43

Nowhere near identical.

They’re pretty close. The Coast ones are watered down for a mass market appeal.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 26/04/2023 17:22

I didn't like the big pearl but I do in the picture of them being worn. Certainly wouldn't pay that for shoes though.

They’re watered down cos they don’t cost £1500.

WedTheBed · 26/04/2023 21:50

Oh god I’m still undecided. I like that they’re a little bit different. I wanted different. But as someone said above I think they might be tacky 😫 I think I’m going to put them up for sale and just see what interest I get.

I’ve spotted another pair of Choo’s that I like that are much, much more toned down. And less expensive so DP can get some money back at least!

I didn’t like the photo above but seeing them face on and worn I actually love them and I think the large pearl is actually very elegant. I prefer them to the version without the platform too. Obviously they are very expensive, but if you are going for something different then you want a wonderfully executed Jimmy Choo type of different.

I think they are just the thing for an unembellished dress, and could look confident, sophisticated and actually quite understated in the outfit overall. So if you do love them go for it.

(By the way the ones from coast are not remotely similar! I think they look cheap and tacky to my eye. The big pearl is just stuck on randomly, the detailing isn’t there and they look quite clumsy in comparison. Really not my taste. I’d also want to know they were comfortable for a day like my wedding. So unless money if the main constraint my advice would be not to go for a watered down version).

WeAreBorg · 27/04/2023 07:19

They look shit in the first photo but lovely in the link. I know what you mean about the giant pearl bauble thing but I’m warming to it now. also the pearls looked like blisters at first, but the more I look at them the more I like them. Bonus that they’re comfy too!
I’d keep those if it were me but don’t if you’re not feeling it.

greenel · 27/04/2023 07:38

Didn't like them in the first photo but they look quite nice on the model in the link.

But on your wedding day and at that price you want shoes you really really love. Not something you're ambivalent about. I'm sure you'll get a good price selling them and maybe find something that 'wows' you.
