Dark circles

Hi!

I’m not one for having shitloads of beauty products but I have recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, huge shock!, but have become aware as to how utterly dreadful I look.

I was recommended The Ordinary serum for dark circles and fine lines but it literally made my skin burn and flake off. Does anyone have recommendations please?!

OP, sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and I hope you've got lots of support.

Regarding the Ordinary serum, which one was it?

Thank you. It was the caffeine one for my eyes and the 1.5% retinol for my face. Honestly, it was so painful!!!

Was it just the retinol one that stung? The other one shouldn't. Tbh, I'm not a huge fan of the caffeine serim- find it a bit meh, but it's very popular.

Is it mostly dark circles or puffiness?

I should also add that it’s fair to say I’ve got very sensitive skin 😐

It was both which surprised me! Luckily just dark circles - for now!

Strange. Did you put any of the retinol close to/under your eyes?

Firstly, start drinking loads of water and try a little facial massage. Especially around the eyes. Look it up on YouTube.

For coverage, I highly recommend NYX colour corrector. For your issue, you'd probably only need to use on of or a blend of the three peachy shades. I actually mix the darkest one with the lighter peach tone and it's definitely the best colour corrector I've tried.

Super helpful! Thank you so
much! I didn’t think I’d gone anywhere near my eyes but maybe I did….

No problem! Just a thought, are you on any medication for your MS that could cause your skin to be extra sensitive?

RoxieLoxy · 25/04/2023 16:25

Yes to the NYX!! Brilliant product and so cheap compared to all the others I've tried (many). I don't use any concealer and only use one of the peach correctors.

I haven’t properly started treatment yet so it’s probably just my dodgy skin!!

just been looking at Neal’s Yard stuff. That looks to be all natural. I wonder if that could do the job with lines?!
