I am doing a 30 hr flight in a few weeks. I am going to wear a pair of wide leg track pants from uniqulo with a T-shirt and a cardigan wit a pair of new balance trainers. I will bring a scarf as planes can be cold. I will pack a spare set of clothes in my hand luggage.

I always wear leggings with a side pocket for my passport/phone, t shirt and a zip up hoody. This outfit is fine if it is hot at your destination.

dudsville · 25/04/2023 08:03

The answer is always layers. I wear 100 % cotton elasticated waist trousers with a tee, then a jumper and, shocking but true, wool socks with sandals arizonas so that i get the full effect!

I 2nd leggings and a hoodie, change if clothes in hand luggage.

imanewuser · 25/04/2023 08:08

I want to wear a dress and sandals. I don't like trousers and too old for high heals (I'm 50) with a full fresh looking glow of makeup and hair immaculate.
11hr flight the other day and I wore leggings and a tunic with flat shoes
The leggings could have been mistaken for tights. I had trackies and T shirt for onboard sleeping as seat went into a bed.

imanewuser · 25/04/2023 08:10

Also to add- its the same outfit I've worn for the last 3 years when flying

Lcb123 · 25/04/2023 08:10

If short haul just whatever, if long haul then leggings or harem trousers with layers on top, and always thick socks to wear on board!

VenusClapTrap · 25/04/2023 08:12

Cotton trousers, t-shirt and a cashmere wrap. Comfortable loafers, no socks.

PeacheyPeach · 25/04/2023 16:23

Thanks everyone x I'm thinking long tshirt dress with shirt over the top and sandals. Only a short flight x

Maxi dress so suitable for hot and cold. Keep your legs covered in a plane. The air con can get chilly

MabelMoo23 · 25/04/2023 17:49

Am not going to lie, love planing an airport /flight outfit…

on one hand I dream that my outfit will have check in going “why hello MabelMoo, we’ve upgraded you to business class” on the other hand I need to plan for the two sprogs with me (that clearly mean being upgraded is the last thing that will ever happen) either spilling stuff over me or throwing up over me.

so, always layers - Hush Harem trousers, New Balance trainers, vest, long sleeve top plus wrap or cardigan plus thick socks to wear onboard. Any spare outfit in hand luggage

I've just bought a grey sweatshirt and matching jogger shorts from Asos which look so comfy. I won't be winning any fashion awards but we've an early flight so I'd like to be warm for it! I'll wear it with a vest underneath so I can whip the sweatshirt off when we get there. I've also got some v soft and snuggly thick woollen socks to wear on the flight too, also from Asos!
