Wavy hair

I've been using only curls which is giving me lovely waves/curls most of the time but I don't like the conditioner and the results are hit or miss-some days lovely waves/curls and some days it hardly does anything. In between wash days I can't seem to master.

Has anyone tried any other wavy hair routine that works? I've been looking at merwaves but there's no taster size bottle options and £70 is a lot.

I use Only Curs and honestly Garnier hair food and a bit of Boots curl creme gives the same results

I do like Merwaves: I don't always use all the products - I think a decent shampoo and conditioner works just fine - but the mousse and gel are excellent. But I gulped at the initial cost too!

@OneRingToRuleThemAll which hair foods do you use? I used to the smoothing but suspect that's not the one I want nowadays
