I have this in the bedroom for clothes that could potentially be worn again.

Trousers (I wear for 2 or 3 days) on a chair, the rest of my clothes go in the laundry basket

JaninaDuszejko · 23/04/2023 09:28

Dirty clothes in the laundry basket, to be worn again clothes on the chair, never ever back in the wardrobe 😱. Although I do fancy a valet stand for this purpose.

Do you undress in the laundry room or take everything there after? Do you wash stuff after every wear?

Laundry is next to the bathroom so clothes go in there after taking a shower but no, I don’t walked around the house naked.

I work in a hospital so yes, everything gets washed. If you’ve been working a 12 hour shift you wouldn’t want to wear it again.

Washing machine

ZoeyBartlett · 23/04/2023 10:19

On the chair of doom! The pile builds up and up and eventually I sort it out, the the cycle begins again,

RoseMartha · 23/04/2023 10:24

Depends, if wearing again on a chair in my bedroom. If dirty the laundry bin.

I never hang them in the wardrobe with clean clothes.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 25/04/2023 14:55

Tops on a hanger over the wardrobe and Jeans folded in the bottom of wardrobe

JustRingJoeDuffy · 25/04/2023 15:27

Laundry basket, or if it's something I'll wear again before washing like cardigan or jeans, I put them on the back of the dressing table chair overnight and put them away when I'm getting up the next morning.
I usually blow dry my hair on the chair in the morning, so don't like clothes on it when I do that.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 25/04/2023 15:28

banister to be worn again or laundry basket if not.

fairycakes1234 · 25/04/2023 15:55

bathroom/bedroom floor, i know, im untidy

Lcb123 · 25/04/2023 16:01

In laundry basket or away in wardrobe or drawer. I cannot stand clothes on the floor, and we don't have a chair in our bedroom.

OnMyWayToSenility · 25/04/2023 16:47

On my floordrobe usually

Topseyt123 · 25/04/2023 17:08

Underwear and t-shirts go in the laundry bag. Jeans and cardigan/jumper that don't yet need washed are folded and put on top of one of the chests of drawers.

Mitfordian · 25/04/2023 17:38

Eh? If its clean enough to be worn again, why can't it go back in the wardrobe/drawer? I might not plan to do the second wear the next day and therefore wouldn't want to use the chair...?

Or is this some weired mumsnet thing like sitting on the bed in outdoor clothes?

Because it may attract moths as they like clothes which have been worn which are kept in dark places

Mitfordian · 25/04/2023 17:57

So if we're intending to wear clothes twice, we really have to do so within a short time frame? Have to say I have not come across this as an issue in 35 years, though I do always have those cedar things on my coat hangers. I've only experienced moths when packing away winter clothes (in boxes, away from the wardrobe).

User1794537 · 25/04/2023 18:04

It's mainly woollens but they are the sort of thing that are worn a few times before washing so I leave mine out in the open as we do get a few moths and I have found the odd hole

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 25/04/2023 18:04

Dirty clothes into the laundry basket

Clothes not dirty enough to need washing get hung up and hung on the ‘not quite dirty enough’ rail in the dressing room

Gooseysgirl · 25/04/2023 18:18

Floordrobe

tobee · 25/04/2023 18:20

On top of the laundry basket in my room to be properly delineated in a few weeks the next morning.

ShakeYourFeathers · 25/04/2023 18:42

Wardrobe, chair, floor or a shelf I've recently discovered which is perfect for this sort of thing. I also have a draw which is useful in this situation

Craftycorvid · 25/04/2023 18:47

Chair of doom (we clearly all have one) if they are just ‘knocking about’ clothes. Radiator for things that just need an airing and can be re-worn. Laundry basket for anything requiring washing.

Abracadabra12345 · 25/04/2023 18:55

TheMiddleOfTheMiddle · 23/04/2023 02:12

In the laundry, or just hang back up if its something that can be worn again before washing.
