If dirty in the laundry basket.

If re-wearable on the clothes horse

CorsicaDreaming · 23/04/2023 05:10

On the Chair of Doom

JudgeRudy · 23/04/2023 05:12

If it's 'good' clothes, for example work suit trousers that l'm going to wear again tomorrow I actually hang them over the shower rail. Everything else goes on the bedroom or bathroom floor (tops, knickers socks etc) depending on where I undress. First thing when I get up, I take the dirty clothes downstairs with me and put them either into the washing machine or into a wash 'bin' in kitchen (lights/darks).
If I had people round I'd move them but I tend to get undressed as soon as I come in. I often don't wear clothes or just a TShirt so not sure if that influences.

In the laundry room, separated into the correct laundry basket.

Do you undress in the laundry room or take everything there after? Do you wash stuff after every wear?

OxanaVorontsova · 23/04/2023 06:25

Hang up outside wardrobe to air overnight if ok to rewear, in the laundry basket if not. Back in the wardrobe in the morning, on the right hand side, so I remember it isn't fully clean.

WhereMyRosemaryGoes · 23/04/2023 06:33

Onto the Chair of Doom, like a normal person.

liveforsummer · 23/04/2023 06:56

Straight in the washing basket (or on the bath floor 😅) I work in a class of 5 year olds and have a pony and a dog so being able to reward any clothes is rare - apart from outer layers like work fleece that gets hung on a hook on the back of my bedroom door

Pahpahpotato · 23/04/2023 07:00

Ah, on The Chair, naturally, or in the washing basket, as needed.
My darling husband is of the opinion that just dumping them on the floor his side of the bed is fine. It is not fine. <glares at said pile of clothes>

megletthesecond · 23/04/2023 07:09

Hooks behind my bedroom door.

LeatherSkirt82 · 23/04/2023 08:06

Outside clothes- hanger to air or laundry basket. Stuff I wear around the house - bedroom chair or laundry basket.

ThoseDamnCrows · 23/04/2023 08:09

Hooks on the wall

cpphelp · 23/04/2023 08:13

Wash basket

WashAsDelicates · 23/04/2023 08:13

Jumpers and trousers that can be reworn: chair.
Everything else that is destined for the laundry: laundry basket.

OK, let's be honest. Everything else that is destined for the laundry generally transitions to the laundry basket via the floor. To get to the laundry basket I have to go all the way around the bed and out of the room. I can't be bothered to do that at night so I do it in the morning on the way out of the bedroom. Most mornings.

watcherintherye · 23/04/2023 08:20

If I definitely won’t wear it again (socks, underwear), then in the laundry basket. If I could wear it again, I put it on the free standing wooden towel rail I keep in our bedroom just for this (we don’t have a chair!)

Summerof76a · 23/04/2023 08:33

Though of you who say wash basket, surely you don't wash jumpers, cardigans, trousers, sweatshirts after one wear?

hettiethehare · 23/04/2023 08:34

Laundry basket if dirty. The rest gets put on the blanket box at the end of our bed and I sort it out the next morning (eg decide if actually it does need a wash, wear again or put away.)

ChufftyBadge · 23/04/2023 08:48

I read once that it's either wearable again or not. If it is you can hang it up again. If not, throw it in the laundry bin.

SpringTastic · 23/04/2023 08:51

Wash basket

Phos · 23/04/2023 08:53

Wash basket if I’m done with it. Wardrobe if I’m going to wear it again.

SoftCoeur · 23/04/2023 08:58

Ah! I'm trying to be better about this. Used to just sling them on the chair. Now it's either straight in the washing basket, put away if washing not needed, or, if I'm going to wear them again, folded in a neat pile on the trunk at the end of the bed.

Chair looks much nicer without clothes chucked on it and room looks much nicer when I don't allow The Piles to build up.

DrJump · 23/04/2023 08:58

I have a kids hat rack attached to the wall next to my bed head. So I chuck stuff on that it works well. When I floordrobed they would.just end up washing stuff more often.

OldGrannyish · 23/04/2023 09:02

I have a coat stand in the corner of the room by the door. Everything that can be reworn goes there. Don't have space for a chair! Rest goes in the laundry basket.

littlehouselessmatch · 23/04/2023 09:14

Bedroom chair or laundry.

User1794537 · 23/04/2023 09:17

either hang on back of door if it creases a lot or lay on chair if not, dirty stuff in washing basket downstairs

mondaytosunday · 23/04/2023 09:22

On the door hook of bathroom and edge of (tall ladder type) radiator there.
