I need new jeans - help!

As the title says I need new jeans but I have no idea what suits me. I'm about 5'6" with short, fat legs and about a size 18-20. This will be changing as I need to lose weight so I don't want to spend more than about £50 on a pair of jeans. At the moment I'm crammed into my old skinny jeans that have expanded with me but I'm very aware that I look like a parsnip.

Any help will be gratefully received!

I'd start with M&S. Try on a few styles.

It’s over your budget but I recently went to Levi’s and got jeans - it’s about £100 per pair but the staff were very helpful and gave great advice. Maybe you don’t even need to buy from there but just try some styles on with their help to get a better idea of what you like and what suits you?

Try straight leg jeans. Primark have a large selection well within your budget. Take a couple of sizes in of the styles you like and maybe wear a top that you would normally wear jeans with and footwear too would be my advice.

I have shortish legs and I usually wear straight jeans but I also wear skinny jeans and bootcut (depends on my footwear).
Primark jeans are pretty good going by a pair I have from there. Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco also do jeans that are ok too, but I recommended M&S because they have lots of different styles and they're not pricy.

I found primark material to very thin and not very flattering. I bought GAP girlfriend jeans , so a straight cut, looked like a sack of spuds. E I’ve just bought next bootcut . Mid rise , so just below the belly button - no muffin top and the slight flare balances out my massive arse. Im just to short and fat for mom jeans and the skinny jeans now look ridiculous on me, so boot cut it is.good luck!

Another vote for M&S jeans, various styles and leg length options. Reasonable material and they was well, also within your budget

I like M&S Sienna jeans. Loads of different colours and lengths. They're straight cut and are soft and stretchy.

Another vote for M&S. I like the sienna straight leg.

Levis straight leg jeans often come up in 33 and 34 on amazon. I bought the Santana ones for £35 recently. They’re thin - more summer jeans - but look good on with a belt.

Squishedstormtrooper · 22/04/2023 23:28

M and S magic jeans, they are my go to and stretchy and always looks good.

Parsnip Grin

M&S summer cargo combats are really nice. All colours and look great with a plain tee.
they have cuffed ankles with a tie.

Our local M&S is tiny and dull, it's where all the beige floral polyester is sent to die. But it does have a reasonable range of jeans. It's worth going into a branch and trying on a few styles and seeing what you prefer. You'd get 2 pairs for your £50.
Loved parsnip btw 😁
